Streetrod eats my Mustang
Well my dad and I build streetrods as a hobby and the current project is a 28 Ford prostreeted roadster. It has a built 302, five speed, and 4.11 gears. Well he had it out the other day and we mess around. My 89 LX coupe is bored .030, 10:1 compression, Holley Systemax II package, 30 lb injectors, 70 mm throttle body, 70 mm Mass Air, full length headers, two chamber flowmasters with 2 1/2" tailpipes, centerforce dual friction clutch, and 4.10 gears. Well we mess around and he is behind me. When we get on them I see the front end raise up on the roadster and he sucks up on me like nothing. We both have nitrous but neither was turned on. His car runs good, without nitrous it will almost pull the front wheels off until the huge tires out back break loose. It sorta makes me mad that the engine he has less than $1000 in will beat mine that has tons of dough in it.

Yup,Dark Knight nailed it right on the spot. It's all because of the weight difference.
I have a friend who has a street rod(it's a Chevy,can't remember what year)with a 355 making 400HP.His car weighs 2100lbs,now with 400HP,it's not gonna take much to get it movin ------------------ Paxton Blown 87GT |

I've got a friend who's dad has a three wheeler with a 289 in it. It's a pretty mild motor but the whole thing only weighs 1100 pounds. It's a wheelie monster. It'll eat any car in the area. No one will race in anymore

Well there is a difference in the weight and I know that makes a difference. The main thing I was referring too was the torque that you can feel in the streetrod. Guess if someone around has something to beat my 5.0 then I will take the streetrod to get revenge.
