sloaod, do you maybe have a manual rack steering? well anyway this car must pull pretty good topend, my car with stock exhaust and stock motor except coldair and fan, ran 13.91 @ 98 mph, 1/8 was 8.8 @80.? 2.0 60' on that run, so what is yout secret? i want 103 mph traps, that should put me around 13.4-5

thats cool though, those times will give some stocker ls1's a hard time, i know my 1.9 60 i cut left a 01 t/a chasing this ford, but he did catch me at the top it's cool, they are pretty shocked to see that my car has stock heads, cam, and internals.

manual steering, lack of smog equipment, whats a front swaybar?, draglites, no heavy insulation covering the spare tire, but i have added subframes. the car has a stock shortblock, nothing has been cleaned up either. i think the tranny had a lot to do with getting to 13.40s, if a completely stock 90 gt 5 spd. can go 13.90, then why cant a "slightly moddified" aod go 13.40s, a 5 spd car with almost identical mod (but he had a MAF) went 13.28. and the car does has good top end, i dont know why. the only thing i can figure is maybe the ads superchip helped the top end, but??? on a side note- my long block will be done (80% chance) next friday!! i'm hoping for a 11.70, but it is really hot here, we will see

hey the MPH does seem high but we all know there are 5.0 freaks out there..my buddy has a build AOD on a 89 hatch with just a elderbrock intake and gears/exhaust and it ran 13.7 on radials..and EVERYHINGis in that car..
and everyone called me a liar cuz my buddy ran a 10.2 with a 90 GT, stock bottom end with a b-cam, ported '69 351 heads, GT-40 intake and ubgraded b trim to 14# of boost

This is out of my league. I don't know the 5.0 techology enough to gage the conversation. I congratulate you on your times SLOAOD.

The main reason I was skeptical about your times is because I had a friend that had a 5.0 Auto and Vert. He had some modifications like GT-40 intake... i forget the rest. Anyways he would always talk crap about breaking into the 13s... he shut is trap when we went to the track, cuz he couldn't break in the 15s.

Other experiences in town here have shown me that 5.0 even lightly modified are having problems breaking into the 13s. No one want's to race me anymore, execept my buddy with the Cobra.

When I look at the board here, it seems I may be completely wrong. We have bad drivers in the area, the cars might have been punished to much ... who knows.

Does your car run consistently that time? How are your 60ft?

man sloaod you can drive my hats off to you i raced a guy that had a 5.0 gt40 engine last night at the track.(iron gt40 heads,gt40intake and all the usual boltons+a 5 speed) his best time was a 14.3@95mph with a 2.20 60ft. i spanked him good but it's all fun!
