Red face DX civic almost jumped me!

A black lowered civic pulls out behind me and follows. I was just cruising, so i payed him no mind at first. He gets closer and i notice the whiny exhaust and the lowered stance, at this point i turn off my fan and radio. Then i am turning right on to a 2 lane spur, i stay to the right behind a truck to see if he wants to jump. He does so i give 1/2 throttle in 3(which is usually enough to dispell any civic) but the fuker starts to pass me. I can't pull in front b/c the truck is there. He passes and i down shift to 2 and nail it. I slowly pull on him to the mid of 3, then let off sopme as to not hit him. I am right behind him, then all of a sudden he lunges forward and i floor it. He pulls about a car before i reacted. We stay even from then on, no pulling either way. I flash him and he slows to pull along side. It is a DX hatch that was gutted with some JAZ drag seats in it, a big tach and 5 pnts. I give a thumbs up and ask what he's got. He sais a GSR motor and we wave and go sepperate ways. That was the best import race i've ever had. I think he sprayed me judging by the way he lunged at the middle of 3. Light Em Up!!!

A GSR engine in a DX would run high 14's with a stock motor.

Damn Man, you gotta hand it to some of the import drivers out there. I think its pretty amazing that they can run with a modded 5.0 with just a 1.8 4 banger...

Inferno, i told my bud about this. He has a riced DX and knows the guy. He sais it has a n2o kit and weighs about 2000 lbs. That thing was pretty quick. I had him till he sprayed me, at that point it was even. I also had just filled up and had a bunch of stuff from work in the car with me. I am not that heavely modded. Most of the $$ i have spent has gone into the chassis, and tranny. Engine is some what stock, not a ton of stuff. At least he was not an a$$hole. Light Em Up!!

I was not disputing the fact that he had n2o...Just informing that a stock motor in a 2000 lb hatchback is a 14 second car without the juice. At only 2000 lbs, it should be mid 14's stock(my CRX weighs 1900lbs)

Damn! A 1000+ pound advantage...those things are freakin' light! I wonder what my Stang would run with a 1000 lbs. weight reduction?

I wasnt there maybe you are right... maybe he had nos BUT... I just want to add that the third gear is the strong side of every DOHC Vtec cars. The difference is when most cars have "short" first and second gear... they also have long third and fourth!! But the B18C and B16A tranny are very very close ratio in every gear! Most of the time when I race a car that is actualy slower then mine on the 1/4... im pretty much even in the first two gears and I start pulling a car or two in third! I guess what im trying to say is... maybe it was juste the mighty 3rd gear and not NOS!

peace!

Hell yeah... there is this little CRX here with a H22A (Prelude engine) Turbo... when I saw him at the track he was still tuning the engine but he was running in the 11s anyway! ... only external mods?! slicks and front mounted intercooler!... Full interior!! Very sleeper!

Inferno and Special K: I am not disputing that the car was fast. It was a quick little bastard! I think he sprayed me b/c we were already about 1/2 way through 3 when he lunged forward. He was trying to pull in 3 but couldn't. So he sprayed me to try and get away. I also smelled rottem egge after wards. It was a nice little car. By no meens something to be taken lightly.

My mill: Ported and polished E7's, Ported HO intake. 65mm t-body, Fenderwell induction with K&N, 14* timing, off road pipe, and [produmps. No gears, bottle. Light Em Up!!
