Post 383 stroker vs 5.0 mustang

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Ok everyone I just had to mention the happenings tonight. I was at work when this guy came in looking for a K&N for his car. This car is a 2200lb 1980 Dodge (yes dodge) spirit (yes, spirit). It really looks like **** but is does have a 383 stroker in it with a beefy cam, and all the performance parts. As it came to pass he said that he wanted to race the "black mustang out there" as he said which happened to be mine. I said that I get off in an hour and we can go out of town and run em. Well you know that a little moderately modified stang sporting a 5.0 really has no chance against the infamous chevy 383 stroker. Right? Beat him by 1.5 car lengths in over a quarter mile.
God bless 4.10's. And long live the mustang!

Ok first of all it wasnt a spirit, it was a 2000 cobra. No no just kiddin haha. well we raced on this stretch of highway out of town and I was able to beat him by bout 1.5 links. It was close for awhile but I came out in front. A really good race in my opinion, but there is a lot that he can do to a chevy 383 stroker to get more horses and the 5.0 is a bit less hopeful in that area. But I am sure that ill stay ahead if I choose to and nothing goes wrong. I dont know much about his car cept its damn weird to have such a big engine in such a damn stupid car. Its the kind of car that you would laugh at but it does have nuts.
what more details do you want? i dont know much else

What do you have, what mods etc.

I have raced several 383 cars a T/A TPI and two carbed camaros. I only lost on one of them and it was a very serious car ezridn was with me when we lost to it. But I beat the other two. They can be bad but some are miss matched.

Just imagine the effort it would take to convert a front wheel drive 4/V6 vehicle to a rear wheel drive V8 and have to screw with putting in a rear axle, trans tunnel, screwing with seat clearance....What a headache! That'd make for a killer sleeper though!
