Soon to Race, Any predictions?
My friend is suppose to race his 99 Z28 which has ram air, bigger MAF, and Flowmaster system against my other friends 90 LX hatch. The Stang has Cobra intake, 24# injectors, 70mm tb, 75mm MAF, BBK shorties, off-road X pipe dumping into Flowmasters, 3550 TKO fitted with a Pro 5-0 shifter, and a set of lift bars with drag springs. The Stang beat an LT1 car the other night by over 3 cars. Any predictions on the outcome? I will let you know the results.
------------------ 89 LX Coupe 306, 10:1 compression, Holley Heads, Intake, and Cam package, 70 mm Throttle body and Mass Air, 30 lb injectors, 255 lph fuel pump, 1 5/8" full length headers, Flowmaster 2 1/2" American Thunder Cat back system, Centerforce dual friction clutch, 4.10 gears 50-175 hp Nitrous Works kit, 5" Auto Meter Shift Light |

He might win on the launch, but assuming the LS1 can drive the camoro will walk by him in 3rd gear and easily win. An intake and exhaust combo are nowhere near enough to take an LS1 in the 1/4 mile.
------------------ 306ci, TFS stage 3 heads. port/pol edlebrock performer intake. 77mm mass air, 70mm TB, crane 2030 cam, Mac full length headers, flowmasters 3.73 gears and more. |

I will agree as well. It'll be close until the Z28 pulls on him in 3rd or 4th the latest. Tell your friend to postpone the race (fake an illness or something) until he gets new heads and a nice cam! Then, that would be a race he'd be proud of.

I also agree I raced a 99 or 2000 Z28 at the track last week. I had him out of the hole and won the race, but if there would have been an inch more of track things would be different. I ran a 13.8 to his 13.6.
