Question "Breakie" a standard.. How to?

I've never tried it with a standard and wanted to know how to do it (if it's done at all).

PS: I know you can get line-lock but just wanted to know if you can do it without it.

I just rev it a few times, dump it, then push the brakes in quick. You just have to feel it out. First you may need to hit the brakes descently hard to stop the car, then push only enough to hold the car from moving. First gear spins kind of slow, and my engine bogs down if I try and dump it from second on dry pavement, so I usually wet down a small area and start in second, then roll out of the water after the tires are spinning.

Thumbs up

Thanks 429mustang. I thought it was a little complicated, but now I know it's at least plausable.
(Mabe I should practice a little before I do it in front of a bunch of chicks A full stall would be the end of my ego )

Yup, practice is the only way with cars. burnouts are fun on rainy days, cause you can spin without burning up your tires.

Used to do them all the time in my '86 K2500 (useless piece of GM). Easiest way for me was to hold both the brake and gas to the floor with the right foot and run the clutch with the left. Aint pretty, but if you have enough engine to overcome the rear brakes, which I'm sure we all do she'll spin. Best part is with the left foot free you can shift to 2nd, 3rd, ect.

Just dump the clutch start spinning and reach over and hold the break with your left foot.
