That vehicle is about as appealing as being kicked in the balls.

What the hell do I want a hopped up SUV for?? I can't race a SUV. Thats like racing a mini-van!!!
Toss that in a pickup truck and now we're talkin.

If you don't think you can race an SUV then you may be wise not to line up against a 1992 or 1993 GMC Typhoon (SUV).
You guys make some good points. I mean who'd want a 400HP, 0-60 in 5.5 second 6 passenger, 4 door SUV that can smoke most anything on the road at a stoplight, while going to the movies with the family in a vehicle with leather interior and in complete comfort? Nutty... |

I would spank a typhoon or a cyclone and I would especially rape that big @ss trail blazer.
AWD vs. RWD with slicks is far from a mis-match. It just doesnt appeal to me, neither does the ford lightning.

Chevy should spend some money on a decent looking/fast RWD car rather than change everything over (like the Impala) to front wheel drive. As far as the SUV, it would be nice to have a large/fast/comfortable vehicle that would be good to drive in all conditions, but I'd rather have a fast car.

Hanging around a shop that specializes in GN's and seeing my fair share of Sy/Ty's, I know what that vehicle has as far as potential. Just a few weeks ago I went to a Sy/Ty/Turbo TA/GN shootout. Although it was an 1/8 mile track I saw plenty of the Sy's in the low 7's and thats enough to take care of the majority of the people on this board. The fastest Ty I saw ran 7.73 and the slowest was an 8.81, so you never know what your going to get.
That being said, there were some open classes for other brands of cars & truck/suvs. A friend brought his 91 coupe down for some 6.6x passes @10x mph. I would still like to have a Typhoon and would most certainly be interested in that Trailblazer if it were avaliable. After all, who else in the SUV market is going to put the new turbo Porsche suv in it's place.

That new porsche SUV is pretty ugly, it looks like a jacked up Boxter (which sucks even more). I HATE BOXTERS! They're a half-as* porsche for a half-as* person in midlife crisis.

Definition: Someone who has too sh*tty credit to get a nice car/gets van passed down to him. I'm not gonna lie, my vans a piece. It's kind of fast and funny looking, but I'm sick of driving it. My family bought it in 86 so I've been looking at it for my entire life. As far as the Porsche Boxter, I just don't know why anyone would waste their money on one, if I couldn't afford a 911 turbo I'd probably rather have a new Cobra/Roush (I'd probably by one of those first anyway though) rather than cheap out and go with the Boxter.

Isn't the Lightning getting 500HP for 2005? Now that's going to be nuts!

It would be wonderful if GMC built that TT Trailblazer. Chevy's SS pickup is a joke w/ 350Hp and a $40K price tag. This could save face and give the Lightnings and SRT-10's something to keep an eye out for. Competition = very good

I think it is a cool idea. not only would it be fast, but it would have good power for pulling boats, bikes, and any other toy I can think of. I have to agree with 420Nitro. What guy wouldn't want a bad @*# SUV for his family car? Would make spending the money on those payments all that easier when you can smash the pedal and fly.
I beg Gm to put out faster/powerful products.....or any one else for that matter. The competition is good for ford and all makers alike.

Personaly, I wouldn't buy any new car. Just throwing money away. I have 8 cars right now, if I added up their worth, it would be less than that GMC, or Cobra, or any other car I would slightly interested in.
