Wheat Stang gets put in it's place
There is this automatic blue V6 Mustang with a Saleen wing, Saleen rims, and custom dual exhaust that always tries to flex on imports and keeps getting beat. He drove by my friends house real slow yesterday and laughed at his Integ and proceeded to try to take off where instead of the usual sound of a V8, we hear the whine of a V6 Stang with exhaust. Today, he tried to race my friend and admitted he was a V6 but thought he would still smoke my friends Integra which happens to be turbo. Needless to say, the Stang was blown out of the water.

I guess so with a turbo.
That's what I call a ricer! It's got looks but nothing to back em with. Which Integra is it? year, GSR, LS, and how much boost. ------------------ C ME FLY 88 coupe = MAC headers, H-pipe, and Chrome 2.5" pipes, pullies, K&N filter, BM shifter, 17" ROH ZR6, Dropped 1.5". |

How pathetic. I beat a 99 V6 stang in my bone stock Integra LS. I barely won but I did. I can't imagine an older one trying to compete.

Aren't Integras and V-6 Stangs both pretty slow? It's kinda like me racing a Jeep Cheokee in my '94 ForeRunner. Might be close, but who would care?

I've heard of stock v-tech integras hitting mid 15's. I'm not sure on that but my friend in his 97 5.7 vortech gmc truck with headers, flows, k&n induction, and about 400 lbs of extra weight got taken out by one of these. I know it's not fair because of weight ratio but it still seemed very quick for a ricer.

It is a 92 LS Integra. He is running 8lbs of boost on a stock block and no other mods besides the turbo and 2.5 inch exhaust. He ran a 13.6 on street tires when he was only boosting 6lbs but that was with open exhaust so he probably will run the same with 8lbs and with exhaust.

13.6 is almost "unbelievable" fast for only 6 lbs and street tires! Considering a stock 92 LS should be mid 16's. ------------------ C ME FLY 88 coupe = MAC headers, H-pipe, and Chrome 2.5" pipes, pullies, K&N filter, BM shifter, 17" ROH ZR6, Dropped 1.5". |

Yeah thanks, well I actually blew out 3rd gear in accomplishing that time. Now I cant race past 62mph (rev limiter in 2nd). Cuz I have to hesitate about 3-4 seconds before putting it in 3rd or its grind city.

By the way, I find it really funny that you criticize my post about a turbo 2nd gen LS running mid 13's but when a fellow Mustang owner says he ran mid 15's in a bone stock 3rd gen LS, which is heavier than my friends car, you don't say anything.

To be honest I didn't even read his post. Nonetheless, I said ALMOST. I didn't call you a liar but you assumed I did! TSK TSK!! I think that time is exceptionally good considering those mods. The fuel system didn't even get touched, that must have the car running somewhat lean or close to detonation? I am surprised that the stock clutch has been able to handle this all. I know Acura's are unusually quick and strong, but to strap a mere turbo on and run mid 13's is impressive to say the least. With ONLY the turbo and exhaust that is a excellent time. I was not trying to flame you just trying to get ALL the facts straight. ------------------ C ME FLY 88 coupe = MAC headers, H-pipe, and Chrome 2.5" pipes, pullies, K&N filter, BM shifter, 17" ROH ZR6, Dropped 1.5". |

Seems these ricers always run 13's or 14's. Hee,hee. Never like the ones we always see running 16-17's. Wonder why I can never get these fast ones to race? Even the ones with stickers always look the other way. Why is that?

Smithbling, the turbo kit(as with most turbo kits) comes with a FMU (fuel management unit) which adds the extra fuel needed for the increased airflow. He made that run with a stock clutch but he just recently put in an aftermarket clutch as the stock clutch was slipping pretty bad. He could possibly see low 13's or high 12's with good driving, but seeing that the wonderful citizens of Pomona think that having races one weekend a month is too much even though they live by an airport which is nosier than the races, it is difficult to say.....he refuses to go to Palmdale. Palmdale sucks, especially for turbo cars.
Rev, I am sorry that you haven't had the opportunity to race a turbo Integra. A 16 and 17 second car is a stock single cam civic or a modded one with a bad driver. |

I can see where you guys are coming from.
Inferno, Im tryin to get some guys together fomr this board to goto Carlsbad since Pomona is dead now. And it all comes down to good driving. I've beat a stock 97 GSR and 99 SI w/ my Stock LS. But I launched at 4500rpm and power shifted HARD at 6800 on every shift.
