Give me a *******' break
I ran into an old friend, who has an '86 Accord sedan that he inherited from his mother. It's got all the goodies short of a body kit. 20" rims, rubber-band tires, cold air kit, fart exhaust...the works.
I ran into him at a light. He waved, honked, smiled; I waved back. Then...he starts revving. I couldn't believe it. Bear in mind that this kid has never seen me in my 'Stang. The last time I saw him was in my Olds, and before that, we used to hang out when I had an Explorer. He had no idea what I had, what I ran, or anything. So the light changes and he takes off, with a big noisy squeal and lots of fart-music coming from the 4" pipe. I take off normally, because c'mon, I'm not gonna race an Accord sedan. When I realized that he wasn't pulling away from me that fast -- and I know he was hustling it, judging by the noise he was making -- I grabbed second and rolled into the gas. I passed him so abruptly that I figured he had slowed when he saw I didn't launch hard. I was going 50-55, ran it up to 65, shifted to third, and hit the brakes. After slowing to 45, it still took him 8-10 seconds to catch up to me, at which point he was probably going 60mph. I didn't even want to pull even with him to talk, or whatever. I just stayed at 45 for a few moments, then turned around in a parking lot. I was literally embarassed that I did that. Now I know how some of these 11-second guys feel when a stock F-body or GT pulls up next to them.

Good Kill, Jeb! Maybe he'll drop a Integra Type R motor in his Accord and try it again... . Just keep beating him until he buys a Mustang!
