WRX goes down
I must admit, I have a pretty sweet job. Me and this guy from work just went out and raced after some friendly smack-talk. He saw that I drove the Stang today and he just had to see what it's all about.
We went from a roll and I let him get the jump (just so he couldn't cry about me leaving early). I had 6 cars on him at 100mph.

I wish I had a job like that. All I can do is dream of driving when I'm at work... Some people get all the good jobs

If he knew anything about racing, he would have ran you from a stop, those cars can cut low 1.8's in short times, i know of 3 wrx's around here, one runs 14.4's, he cant drive, and its stock, the other two are in the high 12's, and are hard to beat with a stock headed 5.0, but good kill, just never under estimate them, i already did, and ran door to door with one and missed 4th gear, and lost. most stangs, f-bods ahnnialate them from a roll, i seen a coupe f-bods get pulled from a stop, but we know they arent nothing special on the launch, of course on the topend, the f-bod had him beat badly.

How do you like the gt40p/cobra intake combo? I want to put that exact combo on my car and your story and times make me want to even more! Did you have any work done to the heads? Also what kind of exhaust are you running. Oh and nice kill btw.

At my work I can go out in the parking lot and work on launching the car. Noone worth racing, but it's still fun, even if the tires break away.

You should come here to Houston on a Saturday Night... My friend has a WRX that runs well below 13s all night long. I watched as he left a Mustang with a blower and Drag Radials staring at his shift light... With hardly enough time to shift he was two lengths ahead of the Mustang at the light and then walking the dog away fom him. At an easy 1/8th mile distance he put a good margin on the Mustang that could never be gain back on the street.
Maybe if there was a Quarter mile or more the Mustang could have bought some land back, but not off the line. It was all over before it began. |
