launching
I am an 18 year old and have a 68 mustang.I will be dropping in a 408 stroker (with 600 flywheel horses) and a tko 5speed tran. i have 355 gears. and plan on using two stage nitrous of 175(off line) and a 250 shot mid track. my question is will this be enough power to get one or hopefully two tires off the ground when launching. would new struts help and if so what kind. i know im gonna need a hell of alot of traction and would appreciate your thoughts and suggestions. i mostly street race down here in P.C. FL and would love to show off my car launching like i want it to.

It doesn't take nearly that much power...it's all in the suspension. Take a look at mustang92. Bills car hops all the time, and his best run is mid 12's.
Don't take this the wrong way, but are you looking to do this at the track on the street. You said you road race, but that's quite a bit of power--especially w/ the nos--to run on the street...

The last thing you need to get your front wheels up on the road. Traction is always questionable, and I don't want to hear about you killing yourself or someone else because the car was on two wheels.
Take it to a track and be careful. Even that can wreck your car. Ask Dark 5.0 about his Cobra.
