Default Got to race finally!

Hello everyone. Finally, the season has started. The car went 11.10 @ 119 first pass!!! second and 3rd passes were 11.07's @ 118. 1.51 60ft. was the best. Bad thing is between the 1000ft. and the first timing light at the top end the car went against the limiter and stayed there. 6500 rpm pill. I don;t want to rev it much higher than that!!! So, 3.73's are going in this week for this weekend. I am running 26 x 10 hoosier slicks. With any luck it'll go quicker! These were the very first 3 passes on the car with the new engine. I'll keep everyone posted.

You said you are putting on slicks this week. Did you run on street tires? and was the 1.5160ft time with those?

No, the slicks were on the car for those runs. I am getting/got 3.73's put in the rear. The car is almost finished, with this rain I won;t have much chance to break in the gears though.

Nice times, dude! First time out, that's not too shabby with a new motor. You've got a 10 sec car there!

Keep us posted on the results.

Take it easy,
E

Man you have a killer set-up. You definitely have a 10 second car.

Congrats,

Alright, this past weekend proved interesting. Car went 11.18 @ 120. Everyone was running an average of a tenth slower than last weekend, the air wasn;t the best and there was a lot of rain Friday night which at Maple Grove means humidity city. But, the car ran great and smooth. 302LX and Dark 50.....thank you, but I still have my doubts. I am just happy that the car is running good and is consistant. We are gonna shoot for a test and tune soon and mess around with some stuff. 02SS, I won't mess around on the street anymore, and I just bracket race at the track. I don;t like racing American cars that much. I would much rather laugh at and spank these imports than a Chevy, Pontiac, or whatever.

well i wish to never be suckered at the track either. that thing would be a true street race weapon. does it spin any or is the chassis 100% sorted out?

The car hooks quite well actually. This past weekend the 60ft. fell off to a 1.55 but thats not too bad. The air wasn't the best and I was staging a little different. I think with the really good air again it will be back to where it was. It feels to me like it hooks hard, I can feel the front end off the ground and am starting to tell how far it carries it. The suspension is good, but could be better. The only changes I have planned for that right now is a Wolfe Racecraft anti-rollbar. All the twisted motion on the launch is just wasted motion. I don;t think this would be a good true street race car though. Its not all that fast, I mean, I am very happy with it, but there are tons of people out there with street cars running 11's, 10's, 9's, 8's, even 7's in "street legal" form.

Thank you. The weather is supposed to be in the higher 50's on Saturday, so maybe it'll pick up a little bit. I just want the car to be consistent, and it seems to be. We will see

Was a good day Saturday!!! The car was VERY consistant. 11.05, 11.06, 11.12 throw away run cause I wasn't lined up right and the car went towards the wall, but I stayed in it. That was first round and I won cause the other guy broke out. Both of us had .004 (.504) rt's!! 2nd round I dialed a 11.10 and ran an 11.07 on the brakes....the car would have run 11.06. So, within 3 hundredths all day it woulda been if I wouldn't have messed up first round. 1.515, 1.517, 1.53 (bad run), 1.515 60ft. CONSISTANT. Second round when I lost I threw away ANOTHER .004 reaction time to his .060--This car never ceases to amaze me. The one guy that races down there in his mustang video taped my launch so I could see what it looks like...I said HOLY S***!!! The left front hangs for a while!!! We are gonna try to get a digital video cam and if we can get one to use I will have video to show everyone. Happy Easter.
