LS1 kill + video
I was downtown last night with a few buddies when I spotted a new SS. I asked him how it ran, blah blah. I asked him if he wanted to run just for the hell of it, told him I had a fox body mustang and he about fell on the floor W/ laughter. We met on top of the parking structure, he said he wanted to race my friends 97 Cobra first, and call one of his buddies up because he wanted to race as well. I scurried home, got my car and threw the slicks in the back of my brothers truck. We met at my friends house, I changed tires and we were off. The SS had full jet-hot coated exhuast, pullies, SLP cam and other misc. stuff. Said it made 330 to the wheels. His buddy with the 2000' Z28 that I ran had ported heads, SLP cam, same exhaust and supposedly made 365 to the wheels.
The cobra and the SS ran first. Sad to say, my buddy got his *** handed to him by the SS. Cobra jumped out 3 cars on him, SS just started pulling as soon as it hooked. After that, the LS1 guys became very cocky. The silver Z28 was now very excited to race me. We lined up, I heated the slicks of for a few seconds and we both staged. I got him by 4 cars or so out of the hole, was still pumming on him. He decided to give up halfway through, came back to the house, wanted to go again. Second run, we both launched good, I still had him by 6 cars or so at 1000 feet. Needless to say he was VERY surprised that my stock looking coupe took care of him. After talkin with them for a bit, I found out they go to the same cruise night as me and my buds go to. Fuddruckers resteraunt in Lake Forest, CA for anybody that is interested. Every tuesday. They said all their LS1 guys are coming, and after the show we're gonna go out and mess around. Will defenitely be more video tomorrow. Here's the vid, it should work. http://members.cox.net/blbfrance/videos/Zak1stpass.AVI |

You need a Divx decoder, I believe you can download them at www.download.com that will play the video. I'm at work right now so I don't have it, so I can't watch the video qutie yet, I'll be sure to check it out once I get home. Nice kill, I hate cocky people.

U probably right. I browse that forum and it's funny. One guy( in a ls1) said he lost to a late '80's Carlo SS. Because he missed a shift and also to a 440 Challenger sometime earlier due to the same reason. But, luckily he said, other than that he's still undeafeted. lol Hmmmm
