Post It runs!

Well the mustang is up and running agian. I got the oil pump in after 3 days and I got good pressure. I got a weird whisting noise or squeeling noise kinda coming outta the motor now and again, I kindaa think it might be the powersteering pump cuz it was running low for a while, but I filled it up. Or maybe a vacume leak, if I forgot ot put a vacume hose on the upper intake.

I dont know where the itming is now, cuz my timinmg light doesnt work. So we just wet it by ear.

The car doesnt have a lot of lowend, its running pretty good, but definatly doesnt feel nearly as fast as I remember. Its idling really high. About 1800-2000rpm, trhen when I come to a stop it finallly settles down to about 1000. ITs also running really hot, maybe cuz of the high idle.
Atleast its running though, and we should all setup to get to carlsbad next weekend as I dial it in this week.

Also, a guy stopped by while we were working on my car. HE has a 79 capri with a 351w in it. It has ported and polished heads, 10:1 compression, 3.73 gears, intake 850carb, full exhaust and a few little things. So I gotta get it running decent by sunday, cuz I'm setup to race him by then.

Im a bit drunk yet, so hopefully all this **** makes sence.

Its running better today it seems. The strange sound has gone away, and the power is definatly there. Its 105 out, and its pulling as hard as ever with only a .35 gap on the plugs for n20.

I pulled the front sway bar and as for handling I can't tell any difference but it does hook up better.

Its still idling about 1800-2000 when I first put in the clutch then several seconds later it finally settles down to a nice 900 rpm idle and lopes around, then after a little longer it will go up ato about 1400 and then settle back to 900.

Maybe the computers still learning??

Skyler, rip this guy a new one! Good Luck! Is there any shop you can go to and dyno tune your car? You have to win.

Congrats on gettng it back up and running. My car is doing the exact EXACT same idle crap. Its really annoying and it just sounds soo hard on the motor. If you figure out how to stop it without a custom burn chip please let me know. If you ever get down this way stop by. Maybe on your next trip to Carlsbad. If I can get this beeyatch running decently I will join you.
