Cool I killed one of my own....

....on the way home from work the other day in my '02 Acura 3.2 TL. Damn thing FLIES - I knew it was fast (225 hp), but I didn't think I could take out a Stang. Well, these two guys and their girlfriends in a '88-89 GT pulled up to me and my wife at a light. The car sounded like it had flowturds on and I swear I heard a cam too. It was a really nice looking GT. I put my window down, asked them a couple things about their car, told them a little about my LX. They said they liked my Acura, asked if it was fast. Before the light turned green, and after we stopped talking they revved and I looked over as they all were smiling. I smiled back. I switched on the traction control, slapped the gear shifter into Sport-shift mode. When the light green, we were off.....at least I was. I could hear his wheels screaming. By the time he got traction, I was GONE, literally 6 car lead. We took it to about 85 (2100 rpm'
s ) He may have gained slightly, but nothing noticeable. We pulled up at another light, he said he was surprised by my car...I said I was too, asked what the 1/4 time is, I told him about 15.1-15.3 (according to Acura). I'm not a ricer now am I ? After all, it is a V6! LOL

Cool

No way, I really like my Acura TL, but I LOVE my Stang. My wife's tried many times to get me to sell it (she's not as accepting of it as alot of you guys' girlfriends/wives are)......NEVER! I ended up choosing to keep my 5.0 badges on!

I bet the traction control actually might have slowed you down a little. Try it with it off. I think my wife's Lexus ES 300 is faster without it. It barely spins anyway and you don't want that thing pulling power out when you're just starting out.

If it's in "auto-mode" it is actually quicker w/ the traction off, but I've tried it both ways in the "sport-shift" mode, and I spun really bad....almost into 3rd. My wife's basically banned me from street racing in "her car" now , so I guess I'll have to bring it to the track now

Great kill man! I also enjoy driving the wife's car as well. Her little infinity hadles pretty good. Kinda slow on the take off but nice at highway speeds with the kids and all.
