1991 GT vs. 1999 acura integra
A local ricer with a 1999 integra which has a cold air intake, muffler system, and lowered wants to race me. I dont think he has the v-tech engine. I have a stock 91 Gt withan auto trans. Who do you think would win?

just dont underestimate him, is he a 5-spd? most likely, watchout off the line, i raced a v-tech from a roll one time he hung pretty dang good around 70mph, remember, they have an 8k redline.

A guy I used to work with has a '00 with an exhaust and cold air kit. I spanked him off the line, but after about 50mph, he stopped falling back as fast. I think he would have gotten me in the extreme top end.
A '91 AOD shouldn't have too much trouble, but don't expect to walk away from him with ease.

You're stang is likely a low 15sec car. His integra is likely in the same area. This one could be close.
One question: What are you doing with a stock mustang?!?!?

My mistake, I didnt see that this guy had the non vtec engine. You should be able to take him. Good luck!
Still, when is that stang gonna see some mods?!

its gonna be stock untill spring then i'm putting on my h-pipe and a cat back if i beat this kid cuz the race would be for $200 and that would buy me a cat back. And then i might add a 75 shot of NOS. i would have more done but i still have to pay for car.

If I was driving a '91 AOD GT, I sure as hell wouldn't put $200 on a race.
To each their own, I guess.

If your car is in good shape and you can drive it you should be able to beat him.
If he can beat the holy **** out of his car and break the tranny eventually he can get mid 15's out of it. Otherwise not. Put some gears in your car and don't worry, but I think you can get him. Powerbrake it up as high as you can on the line, shift at ~5400rpm on the tach, and 1-D-1 shift it. Advance your timing to ~13-14 degrees and run some good gas also. Pull your air silencer if you havn't. I don't think you'll have a problem. Skyler

yeah i'mdefinatly going to bump the timing up and run 94 octane gas. And my e.t. of 15.062 was with my air silencer in and on like 87 gas. I also have the 1-D-1 shift down pretty good. I'm pretty sure i'll beat him just if i'm puttin 200 on the line i wanted to see what other people thought of this.

i would get a look at this integra before you race him for $200. especially since it sounds like you can't afford to lose the money.
watch out for engine swaps, n2o,... anyone with an integra that is willing to put up $200 against your gt either has something up his sleeve or just saw the "fast and the furious" again.

Here's the funny part i've seen everything under his hood none v-tech no NOS and i'm pretty sure its an auto not 100% sure. But heres the kicker he hasnt even looked into my car to see if its auto or stick, hasnt looked under my hood for all he knows i could be running a 75 shot or have 3.73's in and he's get his butt handed to him. He just put in a cold air kit so i guess he thinks he's the man now. I'm gonna talk to a kid at school and see if he is does have something up his sleeve cuz if he does i'm gonna pull out all the stops.

You dont have to worry at all. The 1.8 liter non Vtec LS motor isnt very powerful stock.
Most (not all) type R's cant break into the 14's let alone an LS. Have fun.

If hes an auto hes got no chance in hell. If you were running 15.0 before the timing and silencer you should go 14.8-.9's now.
I wouldnt worry about him a bit. Sky
