99+gt vs. 5.0
i was cruising home from my girlfriend’s house last night and was looking to pick a race to see how much the new cold air is really doing.
i happen to find a 99+ GT Blk, exhaust, tinted, and a nice set of 18" chrome saleen rim. hella sick. any ways i caught up to him and jumped on it just to let him know i was game. then we hit a stop light i was on edge just waiting for the light to go green then it did we both hit 1st with a chirp we were dead even, then 2nd gear with the same results and so on up to 4th gear until he let off. i hung even with him the whole way. i was so pumped, i looked over at the guy and we both nodded our heads with a smile. man that was some of the purest shifting i have ever done. |

Cool, good race! When I move up to Davis again, I'd love to run you in the GT!! I'll let you know, if you're game.

I remember back in the winter 99 I raced a new 99 GT. It was all stock from what I could tell. I was in my 90 5.0. We raced from a light and I got a bit of the jump and was ahead through all 3 gears then at about 90 MPH or so when I shifted into 4th, he started reeling me in good. Fun race. I only 2.73s at the time too. Only mods were exhaust.

I raced a 90's notch this past weekend from a slow roll, its mods were longtubes and full exhuast, C-4, 3.73's and some other little stuff, my wifes 00 gt is an (auto) and only mods are X-pipe, weldin delta flows, and a K&N, I gave him the jump, and we stayed even through first but after that my wifes car started pulling hard and leaving away! I am impressed with the 99 and up GT's auto or stick, by the way her car has ran a 14.10@100.
