Default How fast is a 98 Oldsmobile Aroura?

A friend at school's parents have an Aroura, and he keeps telling me how it can go 300km/h, and how bad it would slay my car.

Does he know what he is talking about?

Thanks

They've got a 4.0liter V8 and I think they have like 220-230hp. It's the same engine the Shelby Series one is based around. They can run around 15flat quarter's. You wouldn't get "slayed" but I wouldnt run him on the freeway. If you wanna race him, go from a stop. BTW, your stang needs gears!

I just looked it up because your post made me curious. The 2002 aurora has a 4.0 V8 with 250 HP. There is also a V6 but I didn't bother looking that up.

He's wrong or lying. There are a lot of people that say Crown Vics come from the factory with 260hp, but that's only because the Mustang gets basically the same engine and makes 260. The Series 1 might have 320, or something, and that's why he's saying that.

Tell your friend to get some professional help. 300km/h is 186 mph. Even if it had 320hp it would be lucky to go over 150 mph. With 250hp you're looking at a top speed of about 130-140 at best.
He probably thinks that the scale on the speedo tells you how fast the car can go. I guess my Pace Car only goes 80 : )

LOL, that is what I was thinking. Mind you a 300 km/h speed is really high. Mine only goes to 240 km/h.
