Default 89 Vs 68

Well I put my new MAC Cat Hpipe on and my car is SLOW as hell!

Somethings wrong, I hope, I can't figure it out.

I knew my car was super slow feeling so I went to race my cousins 68 mustang.

It trapped 99.5mph before the electric fan, so I figure its about 100-101mph now.

I pulled him a car off the line just because of better traction, but after that we were dead even.

Neither one of us could pull on the other, exact same power.

So I am trapping 100 now.

WTF.

Check my post in Windsor power, Hpipe vs stock, vs offroad.

First let me say that I hate Mac. With that said, when I put the Mac hiflo H on the 94 cobra, the car felt much stronger. You did the install yourself, right? I dont know if the foxes were the same, but did you hook up all the smog stuff correctly, cause that's where I had the most trouble.

It does sound like your cats are plugged. I was having a similar problem on my 2000; it made low- and mid-range power just fine, but over 4000 the power started to drop and it wouldn't even rev over 5200 rpm! I took it to Ford and the test they ran indicated excessive backpressure in the exhaust.

Hook up a vacuum gauge and check to see if there is a restriction. If you don’t hit zero inches at WOT, you’ve got a restriction.

Good Luck

Dang Sky, that does suck....is that the only difference? The exhaust? You need to aso be carful, because my buddy had clogged cats on his 94 and he ended up clogging some valves on his heads with carbon. You need to go offroad :P Good Luck!

Skyman,

Hook up the gauge so that you can see it from inside the car, then go out for a test run(s). Try to glance over at the gauge when you're at WOT. You want to see zero.

Have Fun.
