Who needs a little laughter?
Well I've kind of been called out by a kid in an 02 Focus. Unfortunately my car is being worked on for my trip to Florida and I'm leaving Sunday. Well here is goes. It's the hatchback Zetec model and this kid has Borla cat-back, JBA header, Iceman intake, cam gears, throttle body and K&N. He claims he's beaten a couple 5.0's LOL and get this a newer Vette!! hahahaha Someone needs a reality check. And these are some of his exact quotes he said to my g/f about me: "i'll smoke his ***", "i'll show him what ford performance is all about", "i will make his big bad muscle car crumble in front of his eyes and you'll be there to watch him get smoked". It's funny but I also want this punk to stop running his mouth. I beat him in my g/f's 2000 V-6 Vert. auto Stang and then he starts making excuses, you gotta love it.
Matt

last time I checked..... since they make an SVT version Mustang (that actually derserves the tag).. I don't feel that the Focus needs the SVT tag.. I agree with the Cobra and the Lightning, but not a Focus, unless they come way up on the performance of the car....
My gf had something similar happen to her, she was on her way to my house when this guy in an Impala flies past her to the stop light, when they get to the light, my gf says " Wow, you did all that to get to the same stop light as me" his reply was something to the effect of her driving a Z28 and he wanted to race... When she told him she doesn't race he implied that she didn't know how to and for her to let him slide over and show her how to "handle" her car.... big mistake, my gf is a redhead, and anyone who knows a red knows you don't make them mad... She went off..... the deep end... After a few statements about how she knew how to race and her boyfriend already showed her, etc..... He comes back with " Oh yeah... what does he drive? (with a little attitude on it) After she described my car, he instantly recognised the description and was quiet after that...... he hasn't bothered her since...... ---Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned....

Let me guess...
His Uncles, brothers, cousins, roomate pulled next to a 5.0L mustang in his Focus. He hit the gas and passed the mustang (who was not aware of this "race"). He then tells how he beet a 5.0L mustang. Eventually, your freind finds out this story and thinks, well I have spent all the money, so I must be faster than that other focus! He put 2 and 2 together (and probably got 7) and now he thinks he can beat a 5.0. |

Wait..... you mean that's not how it works?..... dang it, and here all this time I thought that 2+2 did = 7.... well, back to school./.
hehe, let him race a couple 5.0's and see what happens... Then the excuse parade will start.... uhghg..... my ugh... engine isn't running right... umm my timing is low.... i got a bad launch oh yeah, well, this isn't my real Focus, my 80,000.00 Drag Focus is at the house...(Bu.Sh.)....

98SteedaGT - While the SVT Focus isn't quick by any means, I don't know if I would go as far as saying it doesn't deserve the SVT badge - did you know it slaloms faster than a new Impreza WRX, BMW M3, or Corvette Z06? I might actually buy one to commute in so I don't tear up my stang.

I think those little SVT focus's are alright. They work pretty good and are a huge step over the regular focus. Just because they aren't set-up for the quarter mile doesn't mean they are a slow shitty car. I bet they could hold thier own on a road course. And on another note it is an american car that is in a similar class as all the imports.

Hey blue00gt, didn't you know that it isn't really an SVT unless it has a V8 in it??

While I do agree that any true sports car needs at least a V8 and rear wheel drive, I may get an SVT Focus for my freeway commute so that I can really get crazy on my stang. They get 36mpg and handle great atleast. If SVT sells alot of them at least that will give them more money to develop the real SVT vehicles.

here's an idea... we can take blue00gt's SVT Focus and squeeze Dark_5.0's engine in it.... damn, now that would make one fast little pony, that could still out corner everything on the market.... not too sure about still getting 36mpg though..... Maybe someone should suggest this combo to Ford//?
hehe

Oh and 98SteedaGT, believe it or not, there is a company that makes a kit to convert a ZX3 to a RWD V8 powered car....I believe I posted the link to it several months ago...if I remember the link to it, I'll put it up again.
