Reminds me of when the first Wankel (rotory) powered Mazdas came on the scene (long before RX-7's). Goofy looking little rice things that would haul a$$, at least in a straight line. They were funny, but fast for the day.

Pardon my ignorance, but what is this "Speedvision" I keep hearing about. I want to see it.

speedvision is a tv station dedicated to just that things with speed boats planes motorcycles drag cars... they show hot rod tv motortrend motor week my classic car... this was motor week that showed that twisted blue subaru factory backed car on roids.. 14.3 i think is pretty good for a factory car 227 horse power turbo 4.. it comes with a cost of i think they said 24 G i am not sure what the new gts cost but i bet it is close...

Speedvision tends to be carried by fewer cable companies. However it is a notch or two above TNN.

Did they say what the cars 0-60mph time was?
My friend tried saying it was around 4 seconds, but I figured being a Subaru it had to be slower than that, new Porsche
911 turbo's run low 4 0-60's and I think they're supposed to have around 450hp which is almost double the Subaru's. It doesn't make sence to me, but I could be wrong. I definitely wouldn't have expected one to run a 14.3 1/4.

4 seconds? Yeah right.

I would think around 6.0 0-60 mph, but a very good 60ft time on street tires.

I believe Subaru rates the WRX at 6.4 sec. for 0-60mph. Magazine tests are getting pretty consistent mid to upper 5's.

I own a 2002 WRX and I ran a 14.5 @ 92.7mph, 100% bone stock, 1300 miles, 70 degree weather, 250lb driver, 1/2 tank of gas, and my 1st time to the track in this car.

It's a fun daily driver.

one other thing i like about that subaru is that it is all wheel drive that will diff help it take off the 0-60 was like 5.6 they said it real close to the porsche thats what they compared it to.. now the one they tested was a 5 spd u could alao get the car as a 4 spd auto...

Congratulations on the WRX ... it must be weird to drive that car after owning a Stang!!! You must feel in control like there is no tommorow! I did this opposite... I had a Talon TSI AWD ... and then moved up to the 2000 Stang. The reason i say up is I had to many problems with that Chrysler POS... plus the Stang is much faster on the 0-60 and quarter. Anyways driving the stang is such a blast with all the xtra torque and wheel spin.

Just so you know WRX is a million times better than my 97 TSI AWD in my mind. It actually will wistand some beating.

Great daily driver.

I'd love to have one in case I live somewhere ... less than hospitable for rw driven cars.

My GT see's winter duty here in MN.

Be semi-responsible and you'll be fine. Add some weight to the back, dedicated snow tires, or really good all season M+S tires, drive within reason and your Stang will do just fine in winter.

Don't know how people forgot how to drive, but they've certainly done a good job of it.

What do you think everybody drove before 4x4's, AWD, and FWD in the winter?

I saw a puke yellow WRX at the track a couple of weeks ago. They're pretty quick, but I wouldn't pay 24+ g's for one. He was launching around 5000 rpm and getting 2.1X 60ft times and a 14.7 1/4 mile. I was expecting him to get 2.0's having all-wheel drive. I have only ran twice since I got my car and got a 2.18 on 225/60/15's. Maybe he didn't know how to drive it yet??

I don't even think they come yellow...that must have been some ricer w/enough money to get one. Anyway...about the 60' times...remember they may have AWD but our cars have bigger meat in the back...one of our tires is like 2 of theirs. So I'd say them and us are about even

wrx is a real nice car, but it was not built for 1/4 racing.
i would love to beat the piss out of one on all the dirt fire roads that are around here.
also saw a yellow one for sale in another town. unless my eyes were playing tricks on me the msrp was $32k

I actually talked to the spoiled little brat (he was about 16 or 17yrs old) when he was at the track and he said he actually ordered it in that color because it was "rare".It must be nice to order a $32K car when you're in high school. Damn!
I just don't see how someone could like a car that color. It looked like a 4 door corn-cob rolling down the track!!
