Post Read - Timely Topic

Those of you in the NY area may have heard this on the news Sunday night. A mid 90s Vette and a 2000 Lambo were street racing, the Lambo crossed into oncoming traffic and went head on with a Volvo killing both drivers. The Vette apparently was struck by the wreckage and ended up against a telephone pole. The two dead drivers had their wives in the car and both survived. The driver of the Vette is alive but will be charged with 2 counts of vehicular homicide. The driver of the Lambo WAS 30 y/o and the Vette driver is 27 y/o.

With the movie Fast and Furious out, we can probably expect more street racing disasters. Be careful!

Man that's terrible.

Bad choices from those 2 guys. When will people learn? Well they'll never learn until it happens to them (and they could be dead when it does happen) and pave the way for stricter vehicle laws and mess it up for everyone.

Feel sorry for the wives.

Well, trying to find a bright side to this story if there is one, at least no Mustang guys were involved.

Wonder if the guy in the Lambo was trying to copy the guy in the Supra when he was racing the Ferrari.

Bada$$lx,
I live about 10 minutes from the mall, right near Candlewood Lake. I've lived in Danbury only a few years (grew up in Norwalk). I usually hang out with friends in Norwalk (SoNo) and occasionally hit the bars in Danbury.

Hey, who does all the work on your car? I'm trying to find a respectable place to do gears and weld-in my subs.

As for work, I deal with federal workers' comp cases. It's really a niche market. I oversee independent adjusters nationwide who handle claims for longshoremen, shipbuilders & shiprepairers, as well as guys on fixed oil platforms. Are you an attorney? SIU has to be pretty interesting work.

I go to Marcus Dairy every so often for the shows. I got an awesome guy local that does all my engine work in his garage at his house(3.55's done prior to him when I was in Mt. Kisco). As for the subs, I went down to C&F Racing in Mt Vernon for that (they specialize in frames and chassis work on hi-po cars).

Your job sounds cool. SIU's nuts.....always someone trying to pull a fast one. We've gtten a few good busts lately (medcal mills and a law office 2 weeks ago). No, I'm not an attorney, I just play one on TV

You guys all know if a Lamborgini or a vette pulled up next to you, the majority of us would race him, maybe not up to a certain speed. And if your gonna say no, take a poll on this board. I think that is a bunch of f'ing BULLSHlT that the guy in the vette is getting charged for it, probaly get put in prison for what 20 years, life what? Hey but the sick *** who slits all his famly's throats, and kills the neighbors get's out in like 7 years, that's a bunch of crap. They were both racing, the guy in lambo died, it's his fault he died, no-one elses! HIS OWN DAM N FAULT! But hey they need someone to blame right? And you know if the wives told them to not race , they wouldn't have raced. And to blame the guy in the vette, geez. It was in the local newspaper, they almost hit a row of school buses. I think it's BS, and to those of you that think it's not, think about, your at sum stop light and a lil honda gives u a rev, u do it back, and you guys take off, then the guy flips over and dies and kills someone else, then they blame good ol YOU! BS.

1Bad89:
I'm not here too place blame on the drivers or the legal system but to bring some awareness to what can happen to you. You're damn right I'd give the vette and lambo a run but I wouldn't be a sick **@k and cross into oncoming traffic. That's rat racing not street/drag racing.

Bada$$lx:
I've gone to a few Super Sundays at the Dairy. Bikes galore! If you head up for another show, let me know. I'm not sure when the next one is. Would you bring the LX? I have to check that machine out. Only 12k miles. Sweet!

How long have you worked in the SIU? I deal with some serious shithead docs and clmt attys. It's really frustrating.

1BAD89: I know, but the vette driver is the only one left to charge with anything. He played a part in this mess. After seeing those Ferrari accident pics that were posted just a few days ago, this was very similar. Just remember, it can happen to any of us. What turns out to be a cool race vs. a vette, T/A, or Porsche can turn quickly into death and serious legal problems. I'm starting to think that I have too much to lose (home, money, and life) by street racing.
