Post WHAT A JOKE!!!! (Really buggin me)

Today is the opening of "the fast and the furious" There wass a sneak preview last night and they invited all of these ricers to come and see it for free. The only catch was they had to display there cars at the opening tonight.

There are a bunch of civics, neons accords and even an ESCORT!! WTF Why would you open the fast and the furious with a display of the (slow and pathetic) I have seen all of these guys run and a low 16 is the best most of them got

WHY!!!! There are a buttload of truely fast cars around here. GRAND NATIONALS, SUPRAS, STANGS,CAMAROS,Z06 VETTES,Vipers there are even some truely fast imports so why in the hell did they get this pathetic car club to open the movie. Damn it to hell this is killing me

Your right man, I dont even understand how you can make a street racing movie without a fox body stang in it. I watched the preview of the movie that they showed on B.E.T. and they were saying that the cars in the movie go around 180mph I dont know about that.

Personally I can't wait for tonight and tomorrow night so I can hand them their pathetic *** on a plate of fury. I just fixed a bent push rod and I'm feeling lucky so lucky I even bought a quick pick for the lottery 125 mil for the california lotery woo hoo. I would defenetly answer to Clint Eastwood's question... "Oh yes!" They are going to exit the movie theater thinking they are hot stuff and are going to get anahilated....moah ha ha haaa victory is mine. I even lifted my hood so I could get the hood clearence I need for the nitrous plate what do you guys think 125 shot???

I won't go see it because they wreck a perfectly good Dodge Charger. I've been looking for a straight fender for my 1968 Dodge Charger R/T for years. AAAARRRRGGGGHHHHH!!!!
I just heard a story on the Orange County (Calif) News Channel where they said the police are worried that people watching the movie are going to imitate it. Then the reporter says he's going to talk to some street racers and (like above) it's a bunch of skippy lookin dudes with their ricers. I had to laugh. I guess they'll laugh at ol' Pony now ;-)

Saw it! Laughed thru the whole dam thing! The best part is when Vin Deisel is supposed to be the fastest racer around and he shows the other guy the charger. He tells the guy that he and his dad built it, but he never drives it because......HE IS SCARED OF IT! HE CAN'T HANDLE THE POWER!! HAHAHAHAHA! Seems like the writers knew all along where the real power is. Light Em Up!!

That is funny as hell. A ricer would be scared of some real power. I won't get to see the movie for a while though. We don't get movies until they are a few months old over here.
LMAO @ 16 second cars i wouldn't even bother bringing my car to that. I would bring my f 150 then it would be some good races. I could probaby win some too.

How does the Ricer even come close to the 1968 Dodge Charger R/T That runs 9.00 Flat There is no way the Ricer that is a 10sec car would allmost hit 9.00 Flat. That last 1/4 was more like 10miles

fostang i doubt you'll even need a 25hp shot to beat up on the rice cars in fact you could probably minus 125hp from your combo and still spank them
"THE SLOW AND PATHETIC" lol. that's what the title of the movie was originally i would bet!

Its really funny that all the ricers were running TWO power adders, and the charger with just a blower kept up with em. Also, the ricers needed 80k to get into the tens, you could make 4 fox bodies do that with 80k, INCLUDING the cost of the car. If you were to go with new mustangs, (21k each) you could make at least 2 do 10s on nitrous. WHAT FOOLS!

I drove by the theater right when everyone was leaving and a few ricer had their hoods open and reving the lawnmower. I figured maybe they'd like to see a spray of nitrous into the atmosphere so I purged in front of some rice racing team and they just about pissed in their pants. Did it two more times at different areas at the request of some asian chicks but no one wanted to race. The night slowed down and no one took the bait. So I decided to call it a night.

I saw it last night, too. Let out a big cheer for the F150 Lightning! lol about the double power adders on all the ricers! only a couple of lowered contours at the local theater..nothing worth even wasting the gas on.

I saw it too and my wife after the movie tells me "If imports are so fast, why don't you trade your mustang". I started laughing and told here the real story and how import cars of the nature of the movie would not be that fast. She said that is wierd. She is of the opinion that a car is what gets you from point A to point B.

Anyway, I was really laughing when he was tring to get his first car to do over 140mph. And he had to get a 2 stage nitros system to do it. When it shows him racing he hits the NO2 at 140. If that were real I would think the whole engine would have exploded. The other thing that was a laugh is that they said they live their lives 9 or 10 seconds at a time. It was awesome when the Charger took off and did a wheelie for about the first 60 feet. I could see why though being as it had, I think he said, 900hp. The whole movie was an exageration though. Specialy the Race Wars were there was nothing but imports. In California there would have been a lot of domestics too.

They probably didn't know what it was, they were probably scared that your car was gonna blow up, or that the steam would make their stickers fall off.

The thing about the movie that really bugged me was the only car that had engine problems was the dodge .

I hope that someone makes a movie that is more realistic.

When we have street races out here it is usually a mix between old muscle cars new muscle cars and a few brave ricers.

This movie has everybody with an import thinking they are hot sh!t now.

I had a stock looking 94' accord try to take me in my truck Sunday night my truck only runs mid 16's and yet I waxed his *** and he said its cause your truck is V8.

I had to explain to the young ricer that no its not cause my truck is a V8 it is cause you are slow really slow, I told him that he needs to get full exhaust and a NOS set-up to be able to be competitive and he told me no that is B.S. cause my buddy has an almost stock Sunfire that runs low 12's in the 1/4
I took the young guy aside and eplained to him how horsepower and weight and traction and all of that factored into speed and then guess what here comes his friend in his sunfire flying down the drag getting smoked by a Grand Am GT.

I then said MAN!!! I guess that the Grand Am must run 11's. He just looked confused and it was at that moment that I realized that you can not teach a ricer anything they already no it all.

I'll bet that a lot of the funding for this movie came from Honda, etc. in order to boost after-market sales. Maybe that is why there were not any domestics in the movie, save the one that had a lot of "engine trouble".
In the long run, maybe this will be good for domestics. All the ricers will think they have 12-13 second cars after they see the movie. Then when they get beat by mustangs and camaro's after they leave the theater, they will use ricer logic and surmise that all mustangs and camaro's run 9's and 10's. he he he.
Ahh, remember, it is only a movie!!!!

Cool

Saw it on Sunday with my wife and 5 year old.

I did see one stang in the movie (i think), toward the beginning (white, lowered, and after market body panels) hardley recognizable..

I did like the N.O.S. under the front seat idea, and some of the stereo's looked like they rocked....

the thing that was irritating was the use of the word nos, instead of nitros or N.O.S. or am i outta touch and that's the new slang???
