Cool

I just got the August issue of MM&FF & on page 22 it has a short bit about the Bullitt. They rate the Bullitt at 265 hp, saying that's 5 more than the GT, but was expected to be in excess of 270 using a FRP intake manifold, u-d pullies & other mods. They ran a 13.79 at 100mph on radial tires. It will only be in production till the end of August if you want to try to get one. Hope this helped!

The Bullit is also using Cobra brakes, with the calipers painted red and with the running pony logo. Its also has stiffer lower (3/4") springs.

The idea of the Mustang is from the old Steve McQueen movie "Bullit". It's a 60's police detective thriller with the hero, Lt. Bullit, drives a 69 Mustang Fastback. If you have not seen this movie you should rent it. Probably one of the best car chases on film. In the movie the fastback has torq thrust rims and is painted a dark green. So Ford painted their "bullit" mustangs green and had special torqthrust-like wheels put on them. Famous flick, cool cars(even the Dodge).
