Post Woo Hoo!!!

Look at me Senior Member in a month!!!! If only I could get as many races as the number of post I have put on here. Does anyone know how fast a 68 camaro with a 327 with complete edelbrock package, 12 bolt posi, th350 trans and some nice traction would be? The guy says he can whoop on my "RUSTANG". Any ideas of how quick he is? I do plan on racing him just wanted to know some last minute things about it. It all goes down this friday.

Congrats on the Senior member status.

Before I give any predictions, what do you run in the 1320?

A properly built 327 with drag suspension can run deep into the 11's. It all depends on so many things, but I would say watch-out.

Good luck,

The works head, intake, cam, and carb. I think it's the rpm package. I doubt it's in the 11's. It has a full interior. Very nice could never imagine what's under the hood until he turns it on. Show room condition. 1320?

Race him, if he beats you he beats you.

How old are you, you are pretty young aren't you?

I am assuming you have a 289 right. If you do just drop some better heads on it when you get the money. I also saw something about a nitrous kit. Just race him and spray it. What are your cam specs? What size carb? Give us some details.

BTW, the 67-68 Mustang is my favorite body style. Do you have a picture?

Actually its a 69' 302 with 9.5:1 compression, cam specs are, intake .448 exhaust .472, carb I have both a 500 or 600 cfm, spraying 75 hp right now, heads are port matched, built the engine myself. The fastback has been with me since I was in 6th grade. Yeah you can say I'm rather young in the feild 18. The car was bought to be a father son bonding project and it has remained that ever since. From then we've picked up a 67' coupe we're working on, an 84' SVO, 70' Torino, and a few other cars that have came and went mostly mustangs. The guy with the camaro bought his car like that. Oh yeah he has a quadra crap carburator and he asked me not to spray. Sorry I don't have any recent pics I will soon once the days start looking a little better.

Yeah we have a ton of Ford cars too. We have a 67, 68, 69, 72 Mustangs. We have a 63 1/2 Galaxie (427) fastback, 61 Galaxie (will recieve 390 with tri-power 401 hp), 63 Galaxie square top. We have too much stuff. I try to get my dad to get rid of some of it. The reason I say that is none of the cars are restored and the 427 Galaxie is the only drivable one. Too many projects at once.

Back to the original topic like I said before run him, if you lose you lose. Tell him you want a car head start and the leave without the hose.

Your right if I lose I lose but I don't want a head start. A real race is even start. Oh and get this I heard it from his friends brother...they're hooking up a nitrous works system in it as we speak. WTF is that about? I thought no spraying? Oh well I guess so..Little does he know that I'm changing the tires I have on it now he he heee I love traction. This is going to be a fun night! I'm really looking forward to it. I think we should make this intersting and put some money down. If I win I might just need to have my car timed.

basic edelbrock pakages don't add all that much power it also depends on the one he has. I don't know about chevy but for ford they have performer then performer rpm then the victor. It sound to me like it will be a good race just go for it.

i say go heads up. if he's ahead of you by 4th gear give it the spray. youll win I agree with the edelbrock performer package, it's pretty good but not unbeatable for sure, you have a good shot at taking him. kick his butt.

Don't have much time to post with detail. The basics are that we both sprayed 75 hp and I won by not that great of a space about a fender. Will post more details later on.
