Post Ran guy at work, and walked him.

Well Today has been a good day for racing. Started the day off kinda early when it comes to street action.

Brad brought his Cobra out to work today for the meeting. Afterwards, we hung around, and only till everyone was gone except me and him he turns to me and says. "Wanna see how bad I beat yah."

This was a friendly challenge, and of course I excepeted.

We lined them up on Old Wilmington Hwy, and went on the count of three. I let him count so he could even get a little jump.

I had this beautifull launch. It just shoot foward, that has got to be one of my best launches. NO tire spin, no bog, just haulin buttox. He kinda bogged, or granny started, I dont know what, but after that there was no catching me. Once he got rolling he stayed about the same the whole way up to 100 Mph. I think he was possibly even loosing ground. His front bumper was about a car length and half from my rear.

He drove alot better than before, but either he needs to learn more, or his Cobra must not be up to snuff. I'm not trying to be arrogant, but after the trash that was talked, I beat him again. Thats all that matters in my world.

Allright dude! I had been waiting for a response to your earlier post and hoped that this would be the outcome. Glad you won that, with all his trash talking.

Question

What are the hp and torque numbers for the 2000 GT? I was thinking of buying an '97-'98 Cobra, but if your stock GT runs that good, the GT is the way to go!

Good walk, Mercury.
Don't you just love those perfect launches? So did he throw out any excuses??

I'm curious. What is your car running in the 1/4 and what year was the Cobra?

His Cobra was a 98, no mods on it, well as far as I know. The only thing not stock on my car is a T-Handle Hurst shift nob. Now my Old Stang Thats a diffrent story.

I'm not sure what My 2000 GT will run in the quarter, I suspect its a little faster than the Magazines, and Ford claim though. I'm guessing High 13's possibly Upper side of mid 13's. I'm basing that off what the Z28 auto run, and early and pre LS-1's run. I've ate up a handfull of them.

I dont take my car to the track because the Ford Dealer here sends people down to the strips occasionally looking for new cars. Running a car under warranty down the drag strip is a easy and quick way to void your warrant.
