Fastang- With my ET streets you could probably pull a 1.7-1.8 60' with that I think your going to need about 102-103mph trap to break a 12... What do u think?

uh oh...
did someone say MW vs. Corral????

Hey guys, it's da EDGECRUSHER...no flaming or anything, just here to see what's up.
I don't care what club we get out there, just as long as the ratio of Mustangs to anything goes up!
We had a Cruise and drag event last month...went real well, met up in O'side and cruised down the PCH to Carlsbad. It was pretty damn cool, I expect the next one to be bigger. You all are invited to join us earlier for the cruise before the racing starts-don't worry, though, we'll play nice until we get to the track!!!!

Hey sky or anyone else knowlegable. I have never ran on slicks before and Im realy not sure how the burnout thing goes. Should I start out in second since Im a rookie and feather the gas untill she starts to leave the water and my rpms go down? Or should I start out in 3rd and drop the clutch at the redline so they spin faster in the end? Someone actualy told me to start out in first/use the brakes to stop me from leaving the water and to shift through the gears. That just sounds a little tough.

I'm jealous of all you left coasters getting together.

Faststang, the way I do it back east is roll it thru the water, light spin in first just to coat the tires, roll it out to dry ground, stop ,slip it in second & burn em at about 3500-4000 rpm till it starts to pull down. big burnouts in the box can throw water around the rear wheel wells that could come back to haunt you at the line.

Have fun.

Hey Fastang,

Do you and Skyler care if I invite a few of my Lightning buddies to join in? I also think my buddy with the blown SVT contour wants to go. I mean I don't want to be crashing your guys' party with a lot of people, so just let me know.

BRING EM ALL! Any quick ford is fine by me. I love lightnings. I just want to get 2 passes in. One on the slicks and one on the radials.

Super, thanks for the info, I'll try that. I was worried about screwing up my drivetrain too, but my motorsport clutch only has about 17,000 miles on it and I am installing an aluminum ds tonight with better U joints, I think it will hold up ok.

Sounds good guys... How crowded is it there? Id like to get 5-6 passes at least. Pomona was hell. 6 hours for 2-3 passes usually. Id like to try a couple settings on my timing and a couple runs on and off the mickey thompsons.

Cool

Well, I got 3 other Lightning owners that want to go, and I haven't even sent out an anouncement yet.

I might as well invite the SCOASCC (Cobra Club).

WE'LL MAKE THIS A FORD VS. THE WORLD EVENT!!!!!

L8r,

Russ

Hey Sky and Fastang, I wouldn't worry. I've been there a several times and you'll get 5-6 passes in easy. You can do even more if you don't let the engine cool between runs (which I don't recommend).

If you don't want me to invite a lot of people, then I won't.

Im not sweating it at all. I will be happy if I get two in and satisfied with one. The last time I went to Pomona I only got one run in the whole damn day. There must have been a thousand 15 second ricers there. On the other hand I got 12 passes in once at pomona when my car was stock. Everyone left for some reason and I was able to stage, run, stage, run, and so forth. My car was quite consistant though.

I will be bringing 3-4 friends with me and meeting in TO... as far as last minute mods

The poor gt is getting an Art Carr extreme duty AOD w/tbrake, manual vb, and 3k stall, and the rear from my lx (3.73's 31 spline), with eibach launch kit, steeda lowers, D&D adj uppers, D&D camber/caster plates. We'll see how fast these stock motored AOD cars really are? (cuz right now I think I could beat it with my ten speed! )

cya there boys/girls
