JR Granatelli just ran 7.59 @ 184 MPH at the NMRA opener with a Summit sponsered, single Turbo 5.4 DOHC. The only Modular car in Pro 5.0 class.

Joe Stewart has a really built 96 Cobra powered by a 4.6 DOHC and a Paxton Novi 2000, that just ran 8.8 @ 154 MPH at FFW opener. The only Modular car in Super Street Outlaw class.

There are also plenty in the 9's and a bunch in the 10's. There is even one N/A 4.6 DOHC that I watched with my own eyes run a low 10 @ 130+ MPH, N/A!!!

Once the aftermarket kicks in gear, it will only get better.

Did you see that 4.6l cobra engine on ebay with 55hrs of port work. Said it made 400+ hp at only 4000 something rpm and it was made to rev to 10,000.

Reading the description, shifting at a whopping 5500 RPMs and with only 10 lbs of boost it ran a traction limited 10.3. That sucker is set up to run more then twice that boost and spin almost twice as high. In the right car that engine should be WELL into the single didgets.
