Back to the track. AGAIN!
Temps were in the lower 70's i'd say, and the air was good.
I only had a couple hours to get some runs in while the wife was at work. (MAN I AM AN ADDICT!!!) I made only 3 passes The first was the feeling out the track, motor pass. RUN 1 2 3 ------------------------------------------- 60 ft 1.76 1.79 1.79 1/8 et 7.97 7.52 7.45 1/8 mph 87.66 96.02 96.97 1/4 et 12.53 11.68 11.56 1/4 mph 107.88 119.01 120.15 The track was not hhoking as well as last weekend. My best 60 ft last weekend was 1.65. Unfortunately I think I need some real slicks, and a couple mph on my trap speed to ever hit a 10. I met up with a bunch of guys from www.Camaroz28.com It was fun. One of the guys has an auto LS1 SS that was running 12.0-12.2 @ 114 on all motor!!!! His motor is internally untouched. Just the easy bolt on stuff, a converter, long tubes, X-pipe, and true duals dumped. Damn fast car!! ------------------ 1988 Mustang GT 11.8 @ 123 (7/14/01) 11.6 @ 116 with a melted plug! Damn, your cars running real good!
Thats one fast LS1! So you lost 3 mph going to the ET Streets... Hmm... That makes me wonder what MPH my car would turn w/ street tires at the track... I'm gonna have to try next time. cool, well i'll tell ya what, those auto ls1's with the race stalls can really move, i know a guy that lives down the street with an m6 going 12.3, but i beleive he has 3.73's cam and exhaust, and run on e.t. streets. and another guy with a t/a auto going mid 11's motor, but he has ls6 intake, stall and several other mods, heh, to bad his rear end just wont hold together.

Those LS1's really do move out. Every other one of them was trapping 105-109. Most were on Drag Radials going lower 13's. An Auto Firehawk was running mid 12's @ 108 on Drag Radials, and a sweet looking Sunset orange SS with a shot of spray was in the low 12's @ 113-114.
Sky, At this track I usually trap 109-110 on motor with street tires. Now I am down to 107-108. What is weird is that my 60 ft's are still around what they are on Drag Radials. I guess the 2 ply tire balloons alot when spinning and cuts down gearing. Actually sitting still there is about a 1/2 inch gap between my tire and the GT ground effect in the back. After running down the track I've just about worn the plastic totally through!!! But on a street tire i'd have to say you'd be about 110 mph. It's no fun spinning though!!! |

Yeah, sounds like the DR's are probably better for you right now. I'm surprized you couldn't get a better 60' outta those ET Streets.
Try the ET Drags, I used to have ET streets and they just didnt hook as well at all. I've gotten a best of a 1.69 60' launching at 5500, and I have a shot trak-lok in my rear end too. Last weekend the track was hooking a lot better. I have been launching at 5 grand and yaning the tires to a 1.65 60 ft. Now this weekend no wheelie, and a 1.79 60 ft withe same launch. My best run I left around 4 grand and still got the same 60 ft.
I've got to get it worked out by the 3rd week in October. We've got a car club race at a really nice track and I want to nail down some consistent low 11's. ------------------ 1988 Mustang GT 11.8 @ 123 (7/14/01) 11.5 @ 120 (9/14/01) 1992 BadAzz Wrangler 1993 Explorer See my car at: www.mustangworks.com/cgi-bin/moi-display.cgi?179 |
