New best ET-Slip attached
I took her to the strip last weekend and was surprised by a new best ET. I guess a good alignment is good for .3 after all. Also, I got to beat a brand new Vette (Wooo!) and he wasn't too happy that his 50K Bowtie couldn't chase me down. It looks like I'm having some trouble finding the finish line cause my MPH is way down which means either a) I'm backing off the throttle before the finish line or b) I'm down on HP. Either way I'm happy because my engine builder came with me and he said I got the front end off the ground a little. I still haven't hooked uo the t-brake yet but that's next on my list od things to do. Plus, I'm going to drop the psi in the BFG drag radials down to 15 lbs and see what happens. Hopefully, I can get over there one more time before winter. Is is getting cold round here. I'm jealous of all you Cali and Texas guys.

I can't believe that 60ft time. Nice going. I could never get better that 1.9 with BFG Drag Radials. What pressure were you running and what width wheel?

Stang_ROTY - HEY MAN! its the kid with the 93 calipso green notch from NY. we talked about a month or 2 ago up there at the valley. whats up? GREAT times man. i wish i could cut ur 60fts. next year maybe when my 373s are in there with a pair of MT streets. i just put a tremec in my car too 3550. i need a new crossmember and clutch cable though, they're shot. crossmembers rotted out. if my friend scott lets me borrow his shifter, i might go up one last time to see what my car can do. im going to hit the track a lil differently though next time, deff bringin some ice too. i just wanna crack into the 12s with my 308s. take care, keep in touch.
Vinny

Thanks for the comments guys. I'll try to take the questions one at a time.
RPM427- No I didn't go this past Friday. When's the next time you guys are renting it out?? tarmon8r-Yeah, I got ribbed about the RT quite a bit. I'm really not concentrating on cutting a good light yet...still trying to get the routine down. I'll get better. I like the Dynamic tranny a lot on the strip. But on the street it's no fun. It's a beast though on the strip. The one I got was built for a Pro 5.0 car. Yeah, it's too much but it's the last thing I want to worry about so I had them beef it up quite a bit and over the summer while the engine was out we took it down for a refresh and check up. You wouldn't believe what they put them through on their Dyno before they sell em. Really tough tranny's LX XLR8R-You're right about the tuning. I'm using no chip right now and some Victor heads would be real nice. Lebanon's right outside of Albany. Pretty decent track but nothing the pro's will come to. No Top Fuel either. There talking about maing everything muffled next year too :-( I've only been to NJ for Englishtown for NHRA. What are doing to the 408?? EFI or carb?? Good luck with it! Stang Runner-Congrats to you too. muskrat-I ran them at 18 lbs. Might try 15 next time. Bluefox91LX-Thanks. I'll get better on the R/T. That was only my 3rd run ever. Green93notch-Vinny! Wuz up man?? Nice to hear from ya. Let me know if you're going again and I'll make the time to get there. Those 60's are pretty good. I hope I can keep them up there when I use the t-brake. Was thinking about going again tomorrow if the weather holds up. The track closes in 3 weeks. It sucks now though b/c to run on a Sat costs $30.00. We'll stay in touch. PM me with your email and we can chat over the winter. It's supposed to be a long one. MTU 50- Thanks man. I've only ran three times and I've beat a 3rd gen Camaro, a newer 98-up Camaro, and the Vette. Have I ever told you that I HATE CHEVY's ;-)

Congrats Man!
I gotta throw in a snide comment about the reaction time, it's compulsory ya know!
I'm happy for ya, doesn't it feel good to have a great running pony, that you KNOW is gonna do better? Last thing, according to BFG, you're not supposed to go below 16 PSI on those drag radials, so if you drop 'em to 15, be careful! Congrats again! |

Driving image is renting it out in the spring again. It is limited to 150 cars. Bill, the owner, picks who goes. It is for his customers.

Re: Congrats Man!
Damn,
My reason for running the 18 lbs is cause I have the issue of MM&FF where they track tested the tires. But then my engine builder came to me last week and said he read in the new Car Craft that they dropped them to 15 and were getting good results. Thanks Jester. I know they get a little sloppy on the top end right now, 15 might be pushing it. Quote:

How much compression do you have?
I dont mean to be rude, Im glad you having fun with the car. But 105mph out of a 393 isnt so good. Go back to your engine builder now, check your compression. Your car isnt running right unless its grossly out of tune. You should be going 113-116mph atleast. Skyler
