Question starter clearance problems

I'm upgrading my cluth setup from the 10.5 to the 11". I have a lakewood bellhousing and Mac 1 3/4 longtubes and the starter touches the header in it's stock location. When I put in the new clutch I have to move the starter out some but there is no room.
Anyone ever run into this? I herd that the starters are smaller on the 93 mustangs, is this true? Anyone have any ideas?
