LS-1 SS Camaro driver Claimed 360 RWHP Saturday.
Okay. My Saturday night went nothing like planned, it was kinda a disapointment but I wont get into that. Something that made me chuckle and made the night a little better was a LS-1 SS Camaro guy's claim of 360 RWHP. Let me go into the details.
Saturday night, a guy pulled up with a silver 2001 SS Camaro 6 spd (I think it was a 2001). He popped his hood and a few people walked over. Then the guy started spouting off, and claiming that he just had his car Dyno'ed at Crown Ford (Local Ford Dealership here in Fayetteville.) earlier that day. Everyone was curious to here what his Horse Power was. I was also, but for a diffrent reason, for the same reason Tim C was (He works at that dealership) interested. Dude went to telling everyone that his STOCK SS dynoe'd 360 Rear Wheel Horse Power at Crown Fords Dyno. Of course every one OOhhhheeed and AHHHed over it. He said he was going to bring the print outs next weekend to show. He bragged and bragged some more about how much his car power his car pulled at the dyno and how he had a freak LS-2. Most people believed him. Well, next time he comes out there, things will be diffrent. This is when things get intersting kinda. After he left (Oh, he tried to put on a show, spun all the way in first...Bounced off the Rev Limiter several times, Missed a shift.) I walked over to Tim C and ask. "Hey Tim, when did Crown Ford get a Dyno?" A few people took notice. "They didnt. They dont have one." Tim said. The BS Flag had just been raised. What me and Tim C think is he must of been in Crown Ford, saw what looked like a Dyno, and made up some BS story and didnt expect anyone out there to know anything about the dealership he said he went to. "I'd like to see his print out, Considering our Speed Cal doesnt even have a printer attached to it. You have to hand write the info down on a sheet of paper." Tim C added. Next time he's out there, I'm going to raise the BS flag infront of everyone, thats if someone doesnt beat me to it. I thought that was amusing, that put a smile on my face kinda that night, and I needed to smile and laugh a little. |

I'd be curious to see this dyno, he probably just going to go into Excel and make a graph and say that's his dyno chart. I never understood why people lie, do they really feel better about bsing everyone? Well he'll feel like a ******* next weekend.
Take Care, §am.

But thats not all
He said they dyno'd it 6 times. We laughed and called him Kyle Petty because of his long hair and looked like him. But that wasnt the best thing, their is this supra out their with thousands, and thousands of dollars put into it. Well their is a 95 cobra with flowmaster exhaust, off road h pipe, msd, a b-303 cam, and a 150 shot of nitrous. Well the supra raced the 95 cobra and lost bad it was hillarious. THe supra with two power adders lost bad. Thats why we have this little joke about supras.
Whats the similarity between a 900hp supra and 600hp supra. A 12 second timeslip P.S. When merc went to use the bathroom he drove his car down to the building and went to the bathroom, so Tim C said i will pay anybody $5 bucks if they go and take mercs car and bring back up here, so the groper went and took mercs car and brought it back up here while we laughed our buts off.

Things are so much more complicated today. In my day, idiots just painted false horsepower numbers on the sides of their hood scoops. Funny how they changed all the time.
I never understood that mentality, either. I always BS'd about my horsepower too, but I was always under the real numbers, not over them! What kind of idiot does that? Some jerk has a 250hp Camaro. He claims 400hp. He races a Mustang that claims 200hp, and loses. How stupid does he look losing to a car with 1/2 as much hp as his car?!?!? He suddenly claims that the "mostly stock" Mustang has over 400hp??? A Camaro owner??? He wouldn't be able to show his face in public again. Anyone that sets themselves up for humiliation so easily deserves every laugh had at his expense. He is probably from the same family that squirts ketchup on his shirt when he buys ice cream. Take care, -Chris

I thought all newer Z28's and SS's were factory freaks? And I thought they all ran 12's? Oh, and now they all have 360 RWHP. Ok, I got it all now.
Next weekend should be interesting. E

BS & HP
Another insecure little dork with a new car, a payment book in his back pocket and a nice room in mom and dad's house where he indulges himself by reading car magazines and dreaming up absurd stories to tell at the hang-out on Saturday night.
A lot of these BSing guys drove some old beat-up Civic or a mom's cast-off Chevy Celebrity and five minutes behind the wheel of a real car makes them giddy - and stupid. I've seen these idiots all my adult life. They BS out of insecurity and stupidity. They often don't know a turbo from a supercharger or a header from an intake manifold. Sad. Unfortunately, there are so many like this around that they get away with the BS. I was fortunate to hang around with real racers and mechanics when I started driving and I worked at gas stations during the summer and on weekends, learning plenty from people who raced semi-pro at the local oval or dragstrip. No BSing was allowed and your HP didn't mean much but timeslips (or a checkered flag, did). I still have zero patience with that kind of lying idiot and call them on it immediately when it comes up, as it always does when you get a bunch of semi-strangers together with performance cars to show off. The last time that happened to me I was at an informal parking lot car show and some jerk with a mildly modded '89 Mustang 5.0 started claiming that he 'used to' have a blower on it and it ran 11's. I asked him how what kind of blower he used, how many pounds he ran on it and what he used for a fuel set-up. He started stuttering and trying to ignore me but I pushed it. He finally admitted that he didn't know much, but the guy who owned it before him told him about the blower and the 11's. Oh. No time slips and doubtful that engine ever saw a blower. The BSing is an unavoidable part of the fast-car scene but I do my part to hold it down, and I recommend we all do the the same, when possible. Trust me; these same guys will be lying about their golf score in 20 years. It's probably genetic. |

I'm thinking what your thinking 1969Mach1.
He's going to go home, use his computer and print up some Flat power and Torque curve "Dyno sheet". I wonder if he'll put the squigles in it, or not. Hmmm. I'll have to find out. I'll be sure to ask him some questions about the kind of dyno it was "dynoed" on depending on how his sheet looks. He probably doesnt even know the diffrence. Then I'll raise the BS Flag. Not trying to start a fight, but this guy has to learn that you cant BS us. I'll ask him "So, did you use Excel or an Adobe program to make these?" What kinda surprised me is when Marya heard 360 Rear Wheel Horse Power, she just shook her head and made a comment about "I dont think so.". Then I told her how Crown Ford doesnt even have a Dyno. I'll make another thread about how my car was "Stolen" from me on Saturday night. |

Is last weekend the first you've seen of this loser? I'm wondering if he'll even show up again after his graceful exit.

That's pretty funny... but the guys with 900hp supra's run 9's, low 10's. 450hp with a good driver will get high 11's(at only $1400). People see a 600 hp Supra running 12.1's and laugh, but what they don't realize is that they are show cars, and have 600lbs of stereo and audio equipment in their car. |

What's a 900hp Mustang run, with traction?
And Mr. 5.0...I'd rather have a fast car and live with my parents than have an Escort wagon and my own apartment.

BS on stilts

Look, when some guy in a new muscle car that he hardly knows how to drive is attempting to dump a load of BS on me he's making the judgment that I'm either stupid enough to believe him or too intimidated by his store-bought muscle car to challenge him. Since neither assumption is correct, I take some offense at the BS'ers and don't roll over for the crapola. Neither should anyone else with any self respect. |

(That "shitty IRS" doesn't seem to work good huh? LOL.) You can bad drivers in any car. That is like saying you know the difference between a 600hp stang and a 900hp stang? A 12 second time slip(because I saw a bad driver?) |
