Street Racers ??????
I noticed the street racers board has hardly any posts anymore. Whats going on?

Texas has really cracked down on street racing. It is no longer worth it for me with the new laws. There is not even a point in me having a fast daily driver anymore.
I might trade in my cobra for a truck to pull the 5.0 around with soon. I still enjoy reading the stories though:cool: |
Damn man that sucks. You cant even get a stop light to stop light race. Honestly I think ive had good luck. Ive been racing, carefully I might add, for over 5-6 years and never even had a brush w/ the police. I guess I should knock on wood now.

are street racing laws up there as bad as they are here? They just passed something recently where if you are caught racing ONCE they auction off your car and possibly crush it.

yeah i was wondering why there wasn't very many posts here. It used to have tons of stories. I don't have a car to race anybody right now. My wife gets into races in the 91 gt quite a few times. It is funny to see these young guys in rice bunners look at her when she drives right on buy.

:D i hear down in L.A. they are confiscating vehicles! :eek: with my cobra sidelined for the moment, i dont' get out much. the car sounds so nasty that all i get is the ricer flybys (or lame attempts ;) ). once in awhile something worthy comes along. i had a run-in with a BMW 760il on the freeway, saw a Nissan Skyline but they wouldn't race, wrx put up a decent fight in traffic, but in the open road, just faded away... i took the LX out for a spin yesterday and have some rubbing issues to address before i can get serious about racing it. /reaches for sledgehammer :) |
niec rob, I really want another new cobra, but this time w/ a blower. hows your gas mileage? Whats do u have done to it for those 116mph traps?

Evidence?
I think some of us might believe that posting street races would become a "permanent record" of a history of street racing. Heaven forbid, if ever there was an accident leading to a "court case", those posts might come back to haunt a person. I always wondered why Dan doesn't post street races. Now I think that I know.

Ya Sky, I'm still in Yucaipa Ca. My Mustang fever went into remission for a while but it's back now with a vengance. I just got my trans. rebuilt, posi replaced, and new Konis all around. Still haven't done the motor though.
Snakeman, we haven't met but I rember you from when I used to be out here more. I think you used to live around here, I could be mistaken. Your Cobra looks great, I've been wanting one for a while. Hey, If you guys fell like a little road trip this Sunday come down to the Brothers Performance parking lot sale sale in Corona. thanks! no road trips anytime soon :( as far as incriminating evidence, i think it would take an AMAZING prosecutor to actually find which one of the hundreds of car sites a person might participate in, then wonder of wonders they find out the username... of course connecting a certain brown ls1 at some unspecified stoplight to an actual PERSON... that would take an act of GOD... i dont' believe in god... lol! the only thing it could prove is a pattern of behavior which could be detrimental in any defense... and, of course... many street racing posts could be fictional accounts by creative writers and liars... from some of the stories, i have reasonable doubt. |
Yeah its ridiculous to worry about posting stories on the net c'mon now.
Rob, did you put that SHM shortblock and ported heads in your car, or did you buy it that way? How much do you have into the caR? I know a guy that had a 03 cobra T-56 and all the parts for the swap into a 96-98 cobra and I was going to buy it from him till I wrecked my car. Skyler |
My street racing kills are fewer and farther this year because:
I don't daily drive the stang I have a tahoe for a daily driver The car has been down due to some learning Finding even a halfway decent race is getting VERY hard I am getting more picky probably because I am getting old (25) |

I haven't been getting any good opportunities for stoplight races lately. Smoke a riced out orange Integra GSR with a body kit, but that's hardly worth mentioning.
I was following a black '03 Cobra vert yesterday that was loud as hell. I was following him and when the lane opened up we both hit it. He pulled about 6-8 cars by the time we came up on traffic. Guess I need the Kenne Belle now. |
