Default need advice a supercharger

hey mustangers just need some advice on a supercharger i have narrowed it down to 2 of them either a procharger or a
vortech s-trim. i just now bought a engine from bennett racing it's a stroked 382 and i decided i want to go with a blower rather than nitrous so any advice on which blower to get would be appreciated thanks for ur time

We run the Vortech in the wifes car, very pleased. It's been 17k miles with no problems yet. Still as strong as the first day with it.

Default SQ-trim

I opted for the SQ-trim...I have heard the two and the SQ-trim is audibly quieter.
As far as Vortech vs. Paxton, Powerdyne, etc...they all have their pluses and minuses.
It's just taking me forever to get all of the components and the time together to install it all.
Waiting for chip, Lightning 80 mm MAF and 42 lb injectors and a couple of days to do it all.

whats the difference between the vortech s,v,t,etc trims?

'89 LX 5.0, off-road h pipe, flowmaster muffs, underdrive pulleys, rebuilt WC T-5, King Cobra Clutch, 65mm throttle body, Explorer Upper/GT40 lower, Lakewood Rear Lift Bars. 76mm C&L Mass air w/ inlet pipe, Twisted wedge heads w/ stage 2 port,polish, MAC equal length shorties, Billet AFPR, 255LPH fuel pump, fresh low end w/ 10.5:1 compression.

Default differences...

B-trim streetable 8-10 psi average, hard to find now, not sold directly buy distributors anymore

A-trim 6 psi basic street low-level mod ($1900)

S-trim 8 psi base (pulley dependent) to 20+ psi streetable all the way to trackable depending upon pulley ($3000)

SQ-trim same as s-trim but with quieter gears ($3200)

T-trim 8 psi to the moon. According to MM & FF vs. the s-trim the t-trim performs best on a higher-reving race motor.

the s-trim is generally considered the best all-around vortech with good streetability and growth potential.

of course, opinions vary...

I must be the only who votes for the ATI Procharger and intercooled combo. If I was going to go supercharged, this is the route that I would take, I just like their setup and supercharger. ~Brian

does anyone have problems with belt slippage on there superchargers.and also is there anyway of getting around from putting a hole in your oil pan for the supercharger. thanks for your help

Procharger, Powerdyne, and Paxton all make self contained oiling systems in some of their superchargers. Which means no oil has to be supplied from your motor, it's all inside the supercharger already. Me personally, like the design of the Prochargers, check them out. ~Brian

Procharger gets my vote. Intercooled setup is the way to go if you plan on some street driving.
