Thumbs up Sweet!! Just ran a Lexus SC430 vert!

I'm on the freeway returning to work after lunch. I'm in my exit lane when two real young kids, could'nt have been over 18 go flying by in the fast lane, doing 90-100. Of course, I decide to take the next exit, and I give chase, catch em, pass em, and slow up. Then I see them catching me, and when they are about 3 cars back, I hit it, and they tried to catch up, but it wasn't happening! Never seen one of those on the streets, it was nice. I tried to give these kids the thumbs up, and mouth out "sweet car" but I think they thought I was talking trash, cause they just gave me a hard, dumbfounded look, and sped off. Guess daddy's $60k car isnt quite powerful enough, eh kids???

How quick are those things??

oh, btw, this was in the GT

My son has one of those. I did drive it and blasted around the freeways of Dallas in it for a half hour or so. They're really nice cars, but are more of a luxury car-personal car rather than super fast. They do have 300 HP but are pretty heavy (3600 lbs?) and have a fairly "slushy" automatic trans. I think they do the 1/4 mile in 14.5 seconds at maybe 95 mph.

Yeah, that sounds about right, cause I trap 101+ and I put about 6-7 cars on him. Thanks, Rev.

I actually got to drive a CLK 430 Mercedes convertible that belongs to my nephew. It seemed similar in performance, but I couldn't really ring it out as he was in the car with me. Of course it is his "baby". Rated at 275 HP, also with a "slushy" automatic, and also fairly heavy, it was fairly quick. Nothing really outstanding though. Nice luxury-personal car, but not really that impressive in pure acceleration.

Speaking of lexus any of you guys ever see an older gs400 with the twin turbo supra motor in it? I think maybe they come with the same motor as the supra without the turbos and people swap the twin turbos on or something, i'm not sure. I saw some videos a while back of one blowing away a viper and a turbo rx7 on the freeway and also a cobra from a roll. Had over 500rwhp I think. Pretty damn impressive for a luxury car and one helluva sleeper!

It wasnt a lexus GS, it was an SC300 with the twin turbo setup. Thing made 800hp!!

That video was sick, but I'm sure it was fake. Think about it, that viper alone on a roll would pull to 160 in like 15sec. The Lexus takes that long just to catch him, and when he does, judging by the other traffic, they're not going 160+ Still, that car can fly. There are lots of videos of it circling the net.

those sc 400's w/ boost are downright sick! my cousin told me that with the basic blower kit they put down 500 horsepower. i think stock they are around 300 horsepower. my buddy w/ a stock 95 GT aode got his *** handed to him by a chick in a black sc400 once.
