Question tire size problem

I just got my 15x8 5.5" back spacing weld wheels. I have 275 50 15" drag slicks. They rub against the inner part of the body near the springs. I took out the quads already. Can I put a spacer on or will I have to buy a different size tire and if so what size? I ordered a 1\4" spacer hoping that works with longer shanks for the lugs. Thanks for reply!

I have the same wheels with 275-50-15 BFG T/A's and they just barely clear the inner wheel wells, but don't rub. They did however rub the tail pipes so I took them off. Just something to check. If you are rubbing on the inside, I'd take a hammer and dolly and push it in a little for clearance. You won't see it and it won't hurt anything. I wouldn't use spacers behind the wheels because anytime you stack parts together, your giving up a certain amout of strength. With slicks you need all the strength and ridgidity you can get. Also it would probably rub on the outside fender lip if you did that anyway. Just my .02, good luck!

I have the same wheels and tires. I took a lead hammer and beat the inner wheel back. Like it was said you can not see it.

Question

Bob,
Are your BFG Drag Radials mounted on stock rims. I want to put some on my stock 86 rims, do you think they'll fit?
Thanx
