Took a 300ZX TT for a ride...twice!
 

I raced a 300ZXTT with a huge wing twice coming home from work. The first race I was just sitting at a light waiting for it to turn when this white 300z rolls up. I look over, but I couldn't see much through his tint. A car was stopped in my lane about 150 feet ahead so I new I was going to take off if this guy was going to race me or not. Well, I take off and put an easy 2 cars fishtailing through 2nd gear, just enough to make a statement. I had enough room to get around the stopped car, and guess what? The next light is red so we line up again. This time we're both ready (I don't think he was for the 1st one). As the perpendicular light goes yellow we both edge forward. GREEN, GO, wheelspin, sh*t wheelspin (damn these salted roads), he pulls a nose (I'm still spinning), I bang 2nd and pull a car, 3rd I'm up 3 cars... Road goes to a single lane... We both ran through 3rd almost to redline and once those turbos spooled up he stayed with me, but it was too late, I already had 3 cars and his lane was gone...

Definately a nice stress reliever after a long day at work... I bet those things are a lot faster from a roll... Oh well, another win for me....

Cool, nice win. The last one I beat appeared stock, no wing or stickers. I had 2 people in the car and the air on. We ran to 60ish in a 35 with me 2-4 cars lengths ahead. It was a fun race!!

I ran a 300Z (not a TT) but the 220hp version while drivin my dads SHO one day , we ran up to 120MPH and I spanked him!!!by several car lengths! then when I got out of it he did a ricer fly by!!!

hey cravnpup was your ET with traction control on or off? i have read articles where guys have hit 13.6 in the new gt's with traction control on, they are launching between 3000 &3600 rpm's, but yours being convertible might weigh you down a little bit

My ET was with TC off... I actually bogged it pretty bad, but I've only been to the track once, so I haven't had a chance to get some better times.... I've heard that the Traction control has something called a power start feature that allows a good launch (i.e. some wheelspin) as long as the car stays in a strait line... Once the rear starts to go sideways it will kick in, and you'll be going nowhere... When I hit the track again this spring, I might give it a shot once or twice...

I really can't believe the new GT's are that fast!! I raced my buddy's car (99 GT) and I was over a second faster, and it was at an 1/8 mile track. Maybe he just hasn't been driving it right. Who knows? Nice win by the way!!
