Track results - yea baby finally
I've complaining about not hitting the magic 110mph mark. Well I busted through:
Went to Cayuga, 85Deg very humid day, I thought I wasn't going to come close. The only mod is the ram air. r/t .661 60' 2.159 1/8 8.889 MPH 80.49 1/4 13.53 MPH 110.07 I backed is up with a 13.3 at 109.84mph. Geez cant wait for cooler weather. I was very surprised at the 8th mile MPH, but third and forth gear pulled like never before, gotta love ported heads and airflow. Now I just need traction for mid 12's. ------------------ 306ci, TFS stage 3 heads. port/pol edlebrock performer intake. 77mm mass air, 70mm TB, crane 2030 cam, Mac full length headers, flowmasters 3.73 gears (just added, pulleys, ram-air, AFPR, full port/polish on upper intake....looking for new times) Best to date: 13.4@107.85mph |

cool... I've turned 80MPH in the 1/8th too...
thought the performerRPM would of picked up the top end, but it slowed it down... you should see low 12's if you hook ;-) ------------------ 84 convt,'95 302,AFR's, performer 3.55's, underdrives BBK shorties stock cam, 1.7's 13.85@102.5 and a '68 stang that WAS nasty ;-) |

I would think a 13.5 @ 110 would have somewhere around a 2.4 60 ft. I've run 13.0's @ 110 with a 2.1 60 ft. Every car acts a little differently though.
You've got a 12.50 on a slick for sure. ------------------ 1988 Mustang GT 11.8 @ 123 (7/14/01) 1992 BadAzz Wrangler 1993 Explorer See my car at: www.mustangworks.com/cgi-bin/moi-display.cgi?179 |

Yea I agree the 60' and eigth are kinda strange. Usually I run 8.6 @84mph here I only ran 8.9 and 4mph off at 80mph? Yet I trap the Quarter at over 110??
Anyone have any explaination? It wasnt fluke because I backed up the run (2x actually). Mike |

Hey, you gotta get those Nitto's on there Mike! I should be able to get my new tires on next Sat am. I'll let you know.
I have no solid explanation for the differences in you slips, but here's a guess. It was pretty hot & humid, so your car may have been slower off the line, & then the ram air kicked in after the 1/8??? ------------------ 91 coupe 3.73's,long tubes,3" exh, ported stock t-body,ProM-77mm cobra intake, edelbrock heads,B303,1.72 rr's 36lb inj's,tremec, & a Paxton NOVI 2000!!! 10.946 @ 131.00 on BFG Drag Radials (275/60/15) |

Dude, get them tires. With those alone you should be in high 12s... better weather and refined driving = consistent mid 12s. Your poor 60 ft times (verifying needed transfer of torque to ground) and high trap speed shows you easily got what it takes for mid 12s.

Nice 110 is elusive for me still also.
My car has run 13.5@105 with a 2.44 60' Now it runs 12.5@107 with a 1.71 60' so I dunno Its kinda weird. Nice runs! 110 w/ traction should do 12.3. Thanks guys. Yea I' ve got a stock suspension with the exception of eibach springs.
Sky, it took alot of tuning to get here. I am using the MARCH ram air system. I must say 3rd and especially 4th gear pulled real hard right to the top (although a little blue smoke was visible at top of 4th) I'm also in full street trim. Maybe next time a short belt and DR. I am getting tired of losing the 1/8 mile to 14sec cars and blowing by them at the end, it does not make for fun racing. |

Most street races are won in the first 1/8th mile, because
1. that faster car has already shown that it is indeed the fastest 2. you'll be going 80+ mph after that. I think i'd just get some drag radials man. I still have my Pony wheels, and am going to mount some on those. Keep my cobra Rs for road racing, and get some Welds for the strip. ------------------ 93 Reef Blue Notchback, 74k miles (August 2001), TFS TW Heads, TFS Stage 1 Cam, TFS Track Heat Intake, 1.6 RR's, 70mm TB, Cold Air ,76mm MAF Meter, 24lb injectors, 255lph in-tank, AFPR, Edelbrock Water Pump, Be Cool Radiator, Mac 1 5/8" Long Tube Headers, 2.5" Pro Chamber, Flowmaster 2 CH 2.5" Cat Back, 3.73 , Alum Driveshaft, Auburn Differential, 17x9 Cobra Rs with Nitto 555s, Tri-Ax Shifter. Got to make a pass finally! 8.44 @ 85mph on regular radials. My new website: <A HREF="http: |

You need more traction. Like you, I previously ran low 13s w/2.1 60 ft, but after a decent burnout on BFG DRs I ran 12.80 @108.13 w/1.80 60ft.

Nice Mike! There's no doubt that if you get the goods to the ground, you'll be way into the 12's with that set-up.
