Thumbs down track times:mad:

my first time to the track and i was surprised, i was expecting 14.30s or lower. but this is what i got:

Reaction: .984
60foot: 2.21
E.T. 14.92
@ 94.56

that doesn’t seem right with the mods that i have (in sig).
what are some ways to adjust or tune the mods i have like what would be a good timing to use, is 14* stock?
i just had an oil change.

and i will definitely practice my launching and shifting.

No way, that's way off. Something's up with your stang. Even if you cut that short time down to 2.0, you'd still be no lower than 14.5??? 14 timing is not stock, so bump that a little. Are you the original owner, cause after we bought the cobra, we went to bump the timing, and found that it was at 4 degrees!! Check that out. I still say something is wrong with your ride though.

This is pretty simple. You have zero torque. B303 cam isn't worth a crap till 3000rpms. Headers, off road H, and catback. On stock E7 heads and the stock intake your combo is probably subject to a VERY narrow powerband.

Where are you shifting? Do you have an aftermarket tach, or the factory one? What were the track conditions?

Something is a miss.

Try checking the following things:

1. Timming (set to 14^)
2. Does it have a AFPR?
3. Replace the fuel filter
4. Check the plugs, wires, cap, rotor

After this check and see how it runs. Also work on your short times (60ft) should be able to wittle those down to a 2.0-2.1 with some practice, that alone should get you a 14.5 or so.

Well since i have actually been to the track my observations might be more accurate.

First time to the track in the '86 With half of the mods now listed....i ran the best of 14.7 @ 95 with most of the runs low 15s. Couple weeks later i was running consistent 14.1-14.3s @ 95. I wouldn't worry too much since that was the first time running it.

I would keep praticing and just have fun. Get those 60's down and you have a lower E.T. You probaly have a mid 14 in that car atleast as it sits now.

How are you launching it?

You'll get there man....
