Default Track visit, and a panoz kill!!

Well i have been enjoying my new clutch, my sport pros are getting worn and sticky, so i go to the strip friday to have some weekend warrior action, not able to get better than 13.9's lately, i surprise myself friday.

I lined up next to a bike first and only run, but told a guy to move ahead of me, which put me in line with a panoz roadster i heard it rumbling through it's sidepipe, with a older man driving and his friend giving advice, i looked at my buddy and said "im gonna get my @$$ handed to me" he said naw "those panoz just spin," well he was right, i treed him with a .550, and cut a 1.90 60' to his 2.2 60' .800 lt, I ran 13.70 to his 14.5, i got out in the pit area with a big grin on my face, and the guy's buddy was telling him how he " spun"....ohhh i love it lol!

his trap was 101, mine 98.25, so he was catching up....

I had my tires to a full 25-30 lbs of psi, timing at 15, left hard about 4k, i have no suspension mods whatsoever, besides subs, but im about to get 37's grs and my one leggin trak lok fixed, so i can get into the short time 1.7's hopefully

I enjoy beating ls1's or anything 3 times the price of my car...hehe good night guys....

With the N/A cobra motor and no roof, I'd expect it to run close to a drop top 01. Expect that someone who can drive it to be a whole lot closer.

But once you get your rear end fixed it shouldn't be close anymore.

Although I don't know anything about the Panoz, you'd be surprised how many folks bring cars considered to be "road racers" over to the 1/4 mile during street nights and test and tunes. It's all in good fun....

Heck, bring the minivan if you've ever wondered what it would run....

Reminds me of the time this summer I tried to convice my buddy to take his sisters 4runner down to the track. She was storing at his place while she was in Europe. I told him she'd never know, unless we blew something up.

Don't worry, we didn't do it. That would have been irresponsible.

Default FourRunner

I rev my '94 FourRunner to red line all the time just trying to get on the freeway. !t has 150,000 miles on it. I don't think you can hurt them doing that as they don't have enough torque to really hurt anything, LOL. Never ran it at the track though, it wouldn't be worth the $20.

Theres an older guy down here that drives around a red panoz, ive revved at him a few times, but he doesnt seemmuch of the racey type. What exactly do those things have under the hood, this one had really wide tires on it. John

tsk tsk, Somebody didn't read my first post.

The Esperante (the full bodied one) has the following Drivetrain:
ENGINE/DRIVETRAIN
Engine: Hand assembled DOHC, 32-valve, 90-degree, aluminum V-8
Displacement: 4.6 Liters/280cid (4,601cc)
Horsepower: 320 @ 6,000rpm
Torque: 315 @4,750rpm
Compression Ratio: 9.8:1
Bore x Stroke: 3.55 in. x 3.54 in. (90.2 mm x 90.0 mm)
Fuel Injection: Sequential electronic
Ignition: Distributorless, coil-on-plug
Transmission: Tremec T45 5-speed manual
Gear Ratios: 1st: 3.37:1 2nd: 1.99:1 3rd: 1.33:1 4th: 1.00:1 5th: 0.67:1
Rev: 3.22:1 Final: 3.27:1
Differential: Limited-slip type, 8.8-inch ring gear, aluminum case

Sounds a whole lot like an n/a Cobra.

For all the other ones try

Yea, a cobra drivetrain, the idle sure sounded like one, but sounded a little meaner with the sidepipes,

I got him at the tree, and just intimidated him from the start, i was revving hard while creeping to the light after burnout, when the tree dropped i gave it a good rev to sling me out, all this and my headers are still stock, and my flowtech;s were in a box, until today that is.
