![]() I went to test & tune last night in orlando & finally learned how to launch these street tires a little lbetter, resulting in my best et so far(see sig for new #'s)! I'm very happy as I was getting discouraged about the crummy 2.22 60' times & 14.4 1/4 times I kept running. Lots of cool cars out there, saw poopstang & paxtonprincess out there having fun as well...sorry didnt get to talk to you poopstang, you weren't at your car when I walked by it in the staging lanes. Tons of fun last night & glad to get closer to those 13's I'm dying to reach! Anyone going to 'Fun Day Sunday' on Feb 10th??? That may be my next practice session...Later!

![]() Hey dude, thanks for the replys....I got a .721 r/t on my best run, & a redlight .447 the run b4 with a 13.5 et & 2.232 60'(still wasn't hooking). My buddy 'Noxcape' was there as well & he really helps me out with advice, I probably wouldn't do as well if he wasn't there to help me out. fastang: does the 1 in. spacer really do that much? My next mods was to put aftermarket shorty headers on as the stock ones suck & I dont want to go with long tubes right now, but if the spacer is a better mod, maybe I can go that route. I've heard of alot of fast 93 Cobras, but never seen any around here that run well into the 13's w/out major rengine work...gotta learn the secrets to getting those 13's! Later!

your rt has nothing to do with the time that flashes for the 1/4, just a good measure of relflexes and could determine the outcome of many a street race.

![]() OOOPS!
Yeah, my first run was a 14.35(BIG typo there B4!..no 13.5 here!). I know the r/t's dont mean anything as I have redlighted many a time at the track & beaten some faster cars to the end, knowing that I really didnt win the race. They are having a funday Sunday at Orlando speedworld Feb 10th. I think I'm going to run that day, it's 10am until 5 or 6pm I think. I'm also going to Fun Ford Weekend March 2-3, for spectating only, in Orlando, & I hear that is always a last even to just watch! This racing bug has bitten me bad.....gotta find some sticky tires & slip them on the car when the wife isn't looking.....Later!

![]() Sounds like your doing good that 100mph is good for mid 13's w/ some sticky tires.
I would ditch that cobra computer ASAP and have your car show its true potential. Skyler

Help me out here, man! What would I want to get to replace the stock computer, & why? This is somethiong I haven't heard about b4, so clue me in, man! I would love a quick fix to run faster times...what about changing rear suspension for better hookup? Would doing that help even while I still run street tires? I'm still cash-poor from the holidays & may need to wait a few months b4 my next mod, but maybe I can try one thing at a time within the next month or so...what would you uggest? thanks for the great advice, as always. Later!

![]() The cobra computer isnt very good, it pulls timing and overall just isn't very aggressive.
Get a A9L or any earlier MAF GT computer from 88ca-89-92. Skyler

![]() Hey guys!
Yeah, I get out there anout once a month, but dont run my car every time as I have a friend who runs a wicked-fast GTP that I help out with pushing thru the staging lanes & taking video/pictures for him. I like to just go out & see all the cool cars & fast runs sometimes, so it doenst bother me not to race all of the time. In fact, we'll be going out next Sunday to OSW for Funday Sunday starting at 10am. We're taking his GTP as we think we have it ready for it's first 13.8-13.9 run. His car hooks well with crummy street tires, he just needs a little cooler temp outside & he'll be there easily. I have a new source for tires now, I think, so I maybe able to get some new rubber soon & get into the 13's. Thanks for the props on my car, fnfastLX! Hope to talk to you & SSMOKEM out there sometime. My friends car is an ultra-clean 98 Grand Prix GTP, Silvermist color, so come by & chat next Sunday! (I'll get my car out there within the next few Fri nights & let you know when for sure). Later!

![]() The Cobra computer has very weak fuel/timing curves. It pulls a ton of timing between shifts and it doesn't go out of emissions mode (closed loop) to "open loop" for performance until 7 seconds have gone by of wide open throttle. In other words, the Cobra computer is still trying to pass emissions until you get to the 1/8 mile.
I can't recall off the top of my head if it's your special Cobra 73mm MAF or the Cobra computer itself which is calibrated for 24lb/hr injectors. If it's the computer, your car won't run without a different MAF (Or recalibrated MAF) with a different Fox computer. |

![]() Venomous as Skyler said U should look into going with the A9L computer and a mass air meter calibrated for your 24lb injectors. For my car this was one of the biggest improvements made to it besides the cam swap. These cars have quite a lot of potential with a few little things tuned correctly and driven well. later> Trey

![]() Put a TIRE on that thing!!. I read in this thread that R/T doesn't effect your E/T that is false. When the green light goes on the clock starts. Keep up the good work, and I'm glad you had fun.

![]() Hey trey193!:
WOW! Nice times! Where did you pickup your A9L & mass air meter? or did you just get the meter recalibrated? What kind of $$$ should I expect to pay for that stuff? I'm on a tight budget so looks like no tires until the end of the summer, but maybe some goodies for my birthday in May...I know, RNSTENS, I need some soft rubber...and hope to be able to drive a bit better & get into those 13's...what about lower control arms for the rear? will those help even with my radials? thanks for the advice, guys! Later!

![]() venomous i used to own a 91gt a while back and when i sold it i kept the a9l computer out of it and put in another ecu that i had as far as the mass air goes i just bought the c-l 76 kit for 209. i recommend the a9l swap and a good meter calibrated correctly, 3.55's or 3.73', and a 2754017nitto, this along with the little free stuff and some good driving should net low low 13's if not 12's. i am sure my car has 12.60's or possibly 50's in it on drag radials and slicks who knows. but the car is to nice of a car to be taking to the track all the time and beating on it, truth be known it will never see slicks and most likely wont go to the track much more, i set a goal to run 12's with minimal mods and i did it the other part of my goal was 110mph so we will see. well take care and drop me a line if u have any questions. notice i dont have any capital letters, somethings up with the keyboard. by the way u can view my car at www.southrides.com it looks a lot like yours. later trey
