Is this true??/ cobra
OK, One of my friend tells me that his Dads All stock except for Flowmaster cat back, 1999 Cobra would pull the front wheels off the ground when they would be cruising down the freeway in 5th gear and downshift into 3rd and his dad would punch it and he says they would come off the ground!! It still has the stock tires! I try to tell him that a stock car cant do that but he doesnt believe me! Please tell me if this is at any way possible! So i can show him this and then he can shut up about it!!!!! Thanks!!!!!!!

I can't believe this question has made it this far. If you installed every single bolt on possible, AND a supercharger or some other power adder, the car is not going to come off the ground in third gear.

C'mon guys... A few years ago I took a mercury comet and put a stock 302 4 barrel motor in it, and it would carry the tires all the way through 3rd gear on bias ply street tires as long as I nailed my shifts (I was shifting at 9 grand). Before I sold the car for $65,000, I took a mclaren f1 on a freeway race up to 240mph... It was still pulling hard, but I saw cops about 5 miles ahead, so I had to let off.

Sometimes riding in a quick car, and a guy that doesnt know a whole lot about fast cars feels the weight shift, and think it's yanking the wheels, but cmon really, a persons gonna know when a car is pulling them.
And the way suspension is setup on a cobra, it's actually (almost) impossible to pull the wheels, even in 1st unless severely modded with like 700hp with big slicks. ------------------ 90 lx coupe: Mac cold air fenderwell, accel supercoil, advncd ignition,3-core radiatr, FMS alum D/S, Black magic fan, 3.27grs, 3chbr flows. uuuhhh...the McClaren F1 is the fastest production car in produced in the world, and...it's (to my knowledge) non-existent in the United States. These cars are hand built in Europe in a 'little 'ol garage by some guy....I know this, b/c I read up on it on my Need For Speed III racing game. Anyways, this car goes from 0-100mph and back to 0mph in less than 10 seconds. No offense man, but I doubt your car can do that, and I doubt you took a McClaren F1...it must have been kit car. Again, no offense, just not believable.

Hmmm... you don't believe him?? I thought he could do that. I was searching the classifieds for an old comet, I've seen them for $300, and put a stock 302 in it. I was then going to sell it for $65,000. Hmmm... Maybe I should think this through...

quote: "stock 302 4 barrel motor in it, and it would carry the tires all the way through 3rd gear on bias ply street tires as long as I nailed my shifts (I was shifting at 9 grand)." end quote.... ok now havent you heard of sarcasm?? and dude he said he saw a cop 5 miles ahead, at 240mph you wouldnt see anything! but a blur, "shifting at 9 grand with a stock 302??? 240mph on bias ply tires??? quick89 you need to relax a little....have a laugh, a stock motor (302) wouldnt even make it past 7500 without grenading. Bias ply's would come apart, or melt at about 140mph or less, Geez, what part of that did you actually beleive?? ------------------ 90 lx coupe: Mac cold air fenderwell, accel supercoil, advncd ignition,3-core radiatr, FMS alum D/S, Black magic fan, 3.27grs, 3chbr flows. Actually they are legal in the US. They just come with a horrid looking bumper (easy to remove) and with only one seat. But after they clear customs the added bumper can be removed and extra seats can be installed. All that for $1.1 mill after taxes. |
