Update from Acura-CL.com --- What arrogance!!!

OK, some of you remember the guy over at www.acura-cl.com posting all the stories of his Mustang Kills.... well, now he's got a nice little thread about this::

Another race! 2 Blondes in a V6 5spd 99+ Stang! hehe

Here's some of his more recent posts, geez this guy is either FOS or isn't letting on to something.

Okay, another 4.6 GT 5spd 97-98 Conv goes down--"with 3 people in the stang"

3 Stangs go down at once

Dark_5.0 08-20-2002 10:22 AM

98SteedaGT 08-20-2002 10:28 AM

The links seem to work fine for me... but, here's the main forum... you'll just have to look down the list for his posts..

I don't know where.... I don't want to start listing other people's account info, I hate it when people do it to me...

How does he know all the little details??

Ok what i find interesting in his post about killing all 3 mustangs at once, how did he know all the little details about how they were all 5spd's? Unless he knew who was driving them or has raced them before that's the only way he could have known that they were all 5spd's. Kind of hard to believe if you ask me. He's not even a good liar, heh. Also anyone who lives in San Antonio go and find this nerd race/kill this guy and then maybe he'll shut-up. It's people like that, that i like to race ;)

Dark_5.0 08-20-2002 11:10 AM

San Antonio is too damn far from Odessa or I would spank his @ss.

1969Mach1 08-20-2002 11:16 AM

Stupid *** ricers.... how about they race me. It's sad they have people this stupid in the world.

The Deuce 08-20-2002 12:16 PM

Those guys are a waste of o2.

Perfect example of what happens when you give someone a car, a computer and a little ****. They go on and on about what they can beat, without backing it up with track #'s. Show me a timeslip please.

98SteedaGT 08-20-2002 12:20 PM

that's a good idea.. Let's see what happens....

MidNiteBlu 5.0 08-20-2002 12:37 PM

Geez that guys a moron. I just started busting up when he said the only difference between a 96 cobra and a 96 GT is the intake. ROFL. Some people are just stupid.

Later,
Nick

He also has thousands of dollars in suspension upgrades if I read correctly. I could drop maybe 1k on some koni's and sway bars, and eat him for lunch. On my stock tires too, mind you.

Some people just don't get what its like out in the real world. They also forget about Cobra's IRS, and that Mustangs were first hailed as open track cars. The same suspension that worked then would work now.

Shelby428cj 08-20-2002 02:07 PM

I am with you Dark 5.0 just got myself registered!!!! hehee look out rice cakes!

Who are you talking about... I didn't see that anyone other than me list their entire suspension setup... BTW, I am MustangIsFaster on that board.

Shelby428cj 08-20-2002 02:28 PM

my username is "chitonrice" same as in the honda board! hehee:p

The Deuce 08-20-2002 02:50 PM

My eyes were fooling me amidst all the talk of Xenon headlights being listed in the mod section of peoples cars.

I still say by "low brow" suspension stuff would walk any of their high tech crap. Bring it on. :D

Thanks to a member on this board for posting the link to your site. I now see what is the deal on all these stang owners coming over.

Anyways, I knew all the owners of those stangs. We all talked before we went on the highway and I was behind them to see how they would go against each other. I got behind the 99 because I knew he probably be the fastest and I was right.

Some of the local TRS guys in San Antonio have seen my car in action and have seen it kill a older 96-98 GT stang badly. Some saw me run recently the convertible 99+ GT stang 5spd. And all they came over and asked, did you have NOS, etc? I opened the hood, car is bone stock, not even a K&N as someone mentioned here.

I have many friends that drive stangs, camaros, etc. I use to own a 99 Trans-Am till that POS fell apart on me, but it was fun while it lasted. I have a friend that has a 00' GT that runs 13.8 with gears, intake, and ecu. That's it. Very impressed. Yea, he leaves me bad off the line, but highway, not much at all.

Anyways, I did not come over here to flame and don't plan to start any arguements I wanted to place the facts out for you guys on what happened, and the info on the cars.

typeR 08-20-2002 04:04 PM

im alittle surprised...I havent been here in a while but you guys were alot more respectful then...simple truths are these the mustang is far easier to mod then the acura cl type S the aftermarket support alone eclipses anything the acura will ever have...that said with what we do have all engine no NOS,no F.I. we have cars going 9.2 in the 1/8th mile that is competitive to 99+GT's near stock with 2 less cylinders that's impressive to me.
personally .in one less than a month i expect to go 9.0 all engine... see you at the track...im in the tampa area...sunshine speeway

But how much more money does a Cl-S cost then a Mustang?

Dark_5.0 08-20-2002 04:16 PM

I am stunned that you came to mustangworks and made valid points , maybe you are not the typical ricer that I thought you were. But I still doubt you pulled a 97 cobra.

Later,

The Deuce 08-20-2002 04:28 PM

Welcome to The MustangWorks guys. There are some LS1 drivers around, and its all a pretty good time.

Have either of you run your cars in the 1/4? I'm interested to know how fast they are out of the hole. I don't do highway races, the CHP are pretty brutal on tickets over 100, especially exhibitions of speed.

84LX89GT 08-20-2002 04:36 PM

I thought that the stories/replies on the acura-cl.com site were going to be ridiculous, but i was impressed. I hope you acura owners (at least all who read this) will feel free to post on this site. it's nice to hear some more/new opinions especially from other types of vehicle owners. A good example is Inferno, who's been around awhile and i think owns like a supra and used to(?) own a CRX.

I do have to say though i doubt beating the cobra, but then again i wasn't there to see it.

Hammer 08-20-2002 05:05 PM

Anything can beat anything else when considering the driver and amount of money invested....

Since when did we become disrespectful?

Silver, TypeR... You guys are DEFINATELY welcome here anytime you want to post. And don't worry about a few stang guys on your site.... we're all pretty friendly, we just have to defend our "slow" Mustangs... hehe.... ;)

Well, a mustang when I shopped back in 99 cost 23k. A Z28 19k bare bones of course, 23k nicely loaded. The CL-S is 27k (I bought mine for). It's not THAT much more, but I didn't buy it for the speed, I bought it for reliability, good service, and good resale.

Thanks for the welcome. I actually did run my car for the 1st time, and I sucked pretty bad at the strip.

Well, basically this is what happened. It was 85-90 degrees, 90%+ humidty, and the track was slick for some reason.

I got to the line, had my car ready, I launched, I took off like I use to in my previous cars, if they were auto, just stab it off the line, (torque braking seems to not work well), well I spun like mad, no traction at all. I let off, and lightly go into it. Well that was a umm 16+ sec run. heheheh. Okay, so all my other runs I basically went easy into the throttle. Slowly pushing it to the floor, the car did accel very slowly instead of dropping the hammer like I have on the street. I got a 15.3 consistantly with that, but only good muster a 92 trap speed. 2.4-2.6 60s.

I saw a 500hp supra only hitting 15s but with a 119mph trap, he also was spinning bad.

So the track was bad. The conditions were poor as well. I know alot of people have hit mid to high 14s stock in this car, so I am hoping for a better time.

My previous car was a 2001 Maxima 5spd, I hit 14.83 at 94.6 mph with a 2.36x 60ft. It was stock. Conditions were good for those runs.

LOL, your stangs aren't slow! :P

I actually love this current Gen stang, the body style is much nicer than the previous, also reliability has defintely increase.

i used to come by ,awhile back...but then just kinda got side tracked..i go to my local 1/8th a bunch..i pull 9.4 to 9.5 concistantly but expect my new engine, a stroker 3.5L (stroker and 3.5 in the same sentence :D) with enhenced heads/compression/port and polish to bring me some 9.0's in the cooler weather...I'd really like to hook up with any of you tampa guys soon ,and have some friendly runs...to me the GT is americas muscle car and to have a all engine v6 compete with lightly modded GT's is big fun....

you must run at sunshine raceway? don't know much about it but do know that bradenton has good track prep and isn't as far for you as it is for me!! I run at my local 1/8 mile and get much bettr run at bradenton. i can 60' a tenth betetr at bradenton and that make a difference in my time. let me know ehn you get your stroker togetehr and we'll meet sometime at bradenton for some 1/4 mile action. last time out there i ran 13.64, 13.54 @101-102 that was on august 10th.
