I am stunned that you came to mustangworks and made valid points , maybe you are not the typical ricer that I thought you were. But I still doubt you pulled a 97 cobra.

Welcome to The MustangWorks guys. There are some LS1 drivers around, and its all a pretty good time.

Have either of you run your cars in the 1/4? I'm interested to know how fast they are out of the hole. I don't do highway races, the CHP are pretty brutal on tickets over 100, especially exhibitions of speed.

I thought that the stories/replies on the acura-cl.com site were going to be ridiculous, but i was impressed. I hope you acura owners (at least all who read this) will feel free to post on this site. it's nice to hear some more/new opinions especially from other types of vehicle owners. A good example is Inferno, who's been around awhile and i think owns like a supra and used to(?) own a CRX.

I do have to say though i doubt beating the cobra, but then again i wasn't there to see it.

Anything can beat anything else when considering the driver and amount of money invested....

Silver, TypeR... You guys are DEFINATELY welcome here anytime you want to post. And don't worry about a few stang guys on your site.... we're all pretty friendly, we just have to defend our "slow" Mustangs... hehe....

Well, a mustang when I shopped back in 99 cost 23k. A Z28 19k bare bones of course, 23k nicely loaded. The CL-S is 27k (I bought mine for). It's not THAT much more, but I didn't buy it for the speed, I bought it for reliability, good service, and good resale.

Thanks for the welcome. I actually did run my car for the 1st time, and I sucked pretty bad at the strip.

Well, basically this is what happened. It was 85-90 degrees, 90%+ humidty, and the track was slick for some reason.

I got to the line, had my car ready, I launched, I took off like I use to in my previous cars, if they were auto, just stab it off the line, (torque braking seems to not work well), well I spun like mad, no traction at all. I let off, and lightly go into it. Well that was a umm 16+ sec run. heheheh. Okay, so all my other runs I basically went easy into the throttle. Slowly pushing it to the floor, the car did accel very slowly instead of dropping the hammer like I have on the street. I got a 15.3 consistantly with that, but only good muster a 92 trap speed. 2.4-2.6 60s.

I saw a 500hp supra only hitting 15s but with a 119mph trap, he also was spinning bad.

So the track was bad. The conditions were poor as well. I know alot of people have hit mid to high 14s stock in this car, so I am hoping for a better time.

My previous car was a 2001 Maxima 5spd, I hit 14.83 at 94.6 mph with a 2.36x 60ft. It was stock. Conditions were good for those runs.

LOL, your stangs aren't slow! :P

I actually love this current Gen stang, the body style is much nicer than the previous, also reliability has defintely increase.

i used to come by ,awhile back...but then just kinda got side tracked..i go to my local 1/8th a bunch..i pull 9.4 to 9.5 concistantly but expect my new engine, a stroker 3.5L (stroker and 3.5 in the same sentence ) with enhenced heads/compression/port and polish to bring me some 9.0's in the cooler weather...I'd really like to hook up with any of you tampa guys soon ,and have some friendly runs...to me the GT is americas muscle car and to have a all engine v6 compete with lightly modded GT's is big fun....

you must run at sunshine raceway? don't know much about it but do know that bradenton has good track prep and isn't as far for you as it is for me!! I run at my local 1/8 mile and get much bettr run at bradenton. i can 60' a tenth betetr at bradenton and that make a difference in my time. let me know ehn you get your stroker togetehr and we'll meet sometime at bradenton for some 1/4 mile action. last time out there i ran 13.64, 13.54 @101-102 that was on august 10th.

hey that would be cool...im in pasco so bredenton (desoto speedway) is a hall for me too. 'bout 100 miles.but id be all over it once im up and running personally i ran a tenth slower at bredenton than at sunshine but it wasnt the best conditions that day sunshine is owned by the same lady that owns bradenton ...but once i have my new setup ill definetly want some 1/4times i expect high 13's,
but hell 13.9 to 13.6 that's a race specially if i can pull something in the 5's as an r/t...ill drop you an email when im ready
