Default DO they make shift-kits for our modular stangs?

This maybe a dumb question but I remember talk when i was in highschool 2 years back with all the kids had cutlass's and grand prix's and they had shift-kits and such and all they talked about was how it made you squack the tire in each gear well whatever I'm just bored so I was wonderin if they made shift-kits for for our stangs I never really looked into stuff like that but anyone know?? thanks

Yes they do and I have one for sale for $50.00. It is an Art Carr shift kit for the 4r70W. All you need is the trans filter. It comes with all the parts gasket and instructions. New never used

Yes they do. Most companies you want to shy away from because there have been problems with the shift kits in the 4R70W. The best companies to go with are Baumann, Art Carr, and Trans-Go. There may be others that are good, but those seem to be the most reputible. Rather than a shift kit, it would probably be best to get a whole new valvebody. You can get those from Fordchip, Art Carr, and Baumann.

The other way to go, is to do the Jerry Mod. Jerry is one of the designers of the 4R70W for Ford. He gives detailed instructions on TCCOA.com how by simply removing the stock valvebody, and drilling a few holes and removing a spring (I think) will do the same as a shift kit, if not better. I would recommend that, and will be doing it myself shortly. Check it out in the tech articles under transmission on tccoa.com. If you have questions you can ask A-train on TCCOA.

ive heard good things about the trans go kit...

and you can squeak from 1st to 2nd with an auto...you just have to power shift it (bad for tranny unless its been bulletproofed by a tranny shop)...
