Watched my car run and smoke a TT supra!
We went racing tonight and I let a friend run my car so I could hear how it sounds from a spectator’s point of view.
He lined up against a TT supra who had been tuning his car with a laptop computer so he had to have some mod’s but I am not sure what. Well to make a long story short he kicked his TT a$$. Somebody said holey shi t listen to that car when he started his burnout. But I still think the 1 chamber flowmasters sound like $hit. ------------------ James Cox nochevy@hotmail.com 1991 Mustang LX 12.565 @109.38mph 1.764 60ft |

He must have been stock or close to it. A strong BPU Supra should run the 1/4 in 12.5 - 11.8 at about 118-120 mph, depending on state of toon. Some have run mid to low 11's at over 120 mph at BPU level.

There were two of them, one was yellow and one was red. We raced the red one and won, then after we raced the two supras raced each other and the red one won by about two car lengths. We were out there tuning on the cars and mine is running a lot better since the new Holley blue fuel pump and new wires and plugs. I still need to get bigger fuel lines but for now it is running better.
BTW WEST: don't let the 12.5 fool you about my car, on the fuel injection it ran a 7.686 @ 90.20 mph in the 1/8th mile which is around an 11.9 @ 113 in the 1/4 mile; on the carb it will be faster when it is tuned right. The problem with the 12.5 is that I was trying to run the efi fuel system with a carb and they don't work well together. ------------------ James Cox nochevy@hotmail.com 1991 Mustang LX 12.565 @109.38mph 1.764 60ft |

Nice, Five0.
That had to be a good experience. I let a friend drive my car as I stood on the side of the road just to see how it sounds when it passed me. Also, I try to soak in my car from every angle: in back seat, passenger front seat, etc while a friend drives. Sounds like a different car all together when you're outside in a spectator's pt of view. ------------------------------- '79 Mustang Coup 4" Cowl Weld wheels (15x6;15x8) Stock 5.8L C4 w/ shift kit 1.5" MAC full length headers Holley 750 CFM Edelbrock intake 2.5" Off road H-pipe, 2-chamber Flowmasters 8.8" Rear end w/ 3.55 gears (Now that's more like it!!) I've seen BPUs run 13.0s @ 117mph to 11.8s @ 120mph being the fastest. They seem to have a very hard time getting off the line.

Hey Fox Body, it's good to know that i'm not the only crazy person out there. I've done the "look at your car from every seat and every angle" thing and i felt like a weirdo but it felt so good just to be able to appreciate my car.

I hope so, we are about to finish the fuel system for the carb. I am still running the stock efi fuel lines and pickup.

We'll find out for sure in July, I'm getting my shoulder operated on soon so I won't be driving the manual too well (not to mention I still need to run woven fuel lines from the tank to the electric pump to pass tech).
The best I've got is with a G-tech: 12.72@112.7mph with the g-tech being about 2-5mph higher on a trap speed than a real track. ------------------ GT-40 heads (ported, polished, + milled), B303 cam, 1.7rr's, JE pistons, Offy intake, Carter AFB 625cfm carb, Flowtech 1 5/8" shortys, Flowtech X-pipe, MAC Flowpath exhaust, MAC pulleys, 373's, subframes, Eibachs+Tokicos, B+M ripper, FMS Clutch, Zoom Quadrant+cable, 17" CSA Ultra rims, 235/45ZR17 Yokohama AVS S4's, MSD 6A ignition+coil, FMS 9mm wires, Carbed, Naturally Aspirated, and Nasty! |
