![]() Its kind of depressing sometimes when i think about it, someone like me who will never see enough money for a s\c or head swap so i was wondering what and how many mods do you think it would take for the 96-98 or 94-98 for that matter mustang gt to take out a stock 93-97 Z-28? (98 and up has 305 horses stock) thanks

![]() A 94-95 stang should spank an LT1 with just a few bolt ons. A 96-97 GT will need gears exhaust and bolt ons.
When I was running a 15.0 @90mph I beat an 01' cobra at the track cause he couldnt drive to save his life ![]() LT1's are turds its the LS1's you have to worry about.

![]() 96_4.6, is your car an auto or manual?
If manual, I'd say everything that Dark already stated, gears and full exhaust + good driving technique (probably most important).

![]() Yea I'm about to juice the gears, I go and look at either 3:73 or 4:10, hardest choice for me to make cause I dont go to the strip and lots of people say 4:10's for my year gt is for the strip and 3:73 is a good daily driver but i dont know. I will never see a S\C so little mods are good for me, i'm 20 with too much **** so no s\c or head swap here

![]() 3:73 gears will be best for you if ur not hittin the track regularly. 4:10's and you lose some (maybe not too much for you!!)drivabilty as a daily driver. Have you done anything with the heads or intake? Cause you can ream an A$* Ho*^ (better exhaust) but if you dont feed it more (better induction) your not taking full advantage. Simple port n' polish, port match, may give you a decent start for not alot of loot.

![]() Not too much. I know a guy named wayne that runs a place called HeadWinds in dearborn, one of the cars he built heads for was featured in Hot Rod...A beautiful blue stang. He's reasonable but the inconvience is the wait. Good luck!

![]() If you go juice, loook for a used Nitrous Express wet kit. The 150 hp shot will really make a improvment

![]() I never lost to a 4.6 GT in my Lt1 camaro. (it was an auto too!
![]() What are stock 4.6 times? 1/8 and 1/4? Lt1s are supposed to run mid to upper 13's in stock form, and thats still plenty to beat on a modular engine. Im pretty sure the Tq curves are a lot different too, the lt1 reaching its max hp and tq sooner and at lower RPMs than the mod. engine. |

![]() Maybe you can find a good set of used 99+ heads, that's what I'd do.
