So, we were talking about how they are going to open a 1/4 mile in that other thread. I was really bored so I went through the post's and found that link to a meeting that talked about opening a 1/4 mile strip in Oxnard. The Meeting was February 5th, wait that was that day, at 6pm? It was 6 Pm! I ran out the door to find the meeting right down the street from my house. what a coincidence. There was a ton of racers there, old and new. Basically, the police want to get a committe together that will represent racers of Oxnard, and hopefully get the grants and funding to open a drag strip here.

That's great news!! A sanctioned track is ALWAYS going to be safer than a run from light to light. Best of luck!

The closest track isn't that far away (like an hour) but its 1/8 mile...but its still exciting...the only problem is that its going to attract a lot more people. It may sound ignorant but I don't want anymore people in my town, it already takes me like 30 minutes to get to school now, its turning into LA traffic!
