hmm, sounds fishy, he would need maximum traction for that run, and more than stock hp to see that mph, i could believe he is having clutch problems especially if its stock clutch, and having slicks, and those grs it would burn up!!

If his 60ft was 1.52, yes. It sounds totally possible to me. The mph sounds a little high, but a 1.52 on a totally stock car would be good for a mid 12.

Hell, if I cut a 1.52 with my 87GT I'd probably be running a mid 12.

It is possible for the time the MPH however are suspect. It would depend how much weight was dropped. His mods should put him into the 102-104mph range not including weight loss, but 109MPH is really pushing it.
So, I wouldnt flame the guy. It just isnt the norm.

hyper92, you got a nice setup there, i just think that setup of yours should be pushing around 310-320 at least, at the wheels?

my buddy has stage 3 tfs and he's probaly making about 375rwhp, but with a 347.

Isn't 7.40s in the 1/8th close to 11.70s to 11.80s in the 1/4. Something dosn't look right to me.

Coupe5oh, yea I agree. Every dyno operator is different though. Also I had the march ram air box on the car, limiting air flow in a garage a wide open throttle (i expect the car is makeing over 310 once in motion...proof in the 110mph traps on a warm motor).
Anyway, its build for a blower so not bad numbers all around.
Mike

BTW 91Turbo what kind of times are you running with that set-up..looks nice.

With those mods and gears, if he can really drive, it might be possible.....he does however have 300 bhp of a little less. I just can't see a 300 hp stock block GT running near 11's. Depends on what his exact weight is, but 109 mph is about a 290-300 rwhp speed on a 3200 lb car. Sounds fishy, but I did once see a stock 89GT with gears, exhaust and pullies run a 13.1.

91GTTurbo 7.4's re equivalent to that, but with his gears and lack of tons ot torque and hp, he will fall off rather quickly.

Take a look at Jmeiers' setup. He's running 110mph with a stock engined Cobra putting down around 280rwhp, I believe.

I've seen quite a bit of stuff out there where stock engined Cobra's are pushing into the 11's at 110mph+. They weigh more than a GT off the floor by about 150-200lbs.

As far as 7.40's in the 1/8 computing to a mid 11, I'll have to agree with SaleenGTS. The 1/8 mile to 1/4 mile calculations don't usually take into account a hole shot in the 1.5sec 60ft category. If you followed an analyzer to get his 1/4 based on his 1/8, he should also be running near 112mph through the traps. It's just a general idea of what you would come out to, not a perfect calculation.

Thanks. I have yet to take it to the track. Right now I'm waiting on the installation of a new fuel pump, a new 1-5/8" passenger side header(still has factory one on it), and an adjustable boost control. Taking it to the track with only 6 lbs(current setup) seemed like a waste, so once everything gets installed, a little race gas, and 10-12 lbs and I'll post some numbers.

Default stang

You never know, his "weight reduction mods" may mean hes sitting on a milk crate with the seats out, doors and hood off and a dixie cup of gas. Maybee he's just a really good driver.

Thumbs up

Fastest 2 valve N\A 99-01 stang I know of is Mustang92's...

Best ET 12.91
Best MPH 105.49

Theoretically, a 4 valver might be able to go a bit more, but with that IRS.... who knows...

I don't believe it.. he went from a low14-high13 sec car to a low 12s car?! with exhaust, gears, tires, cold air and losing some weight?! Let's add it up, maybe 300hp(being real generous here)... I'd like to see the list of weight reductions! Did he lose 1000 lb?!

Why is he using a short belt if he has pulleys? For that .005?? He could have beat Bob Cosby's cobra at the NJ event with that time!

I think he forgot to mention the blower...
