Default What do you think?

Me:
89 LX Hatchback 5.0 5 spd
B+M Ripper Shifter
Ford Racing 10.5" Clutch
K+N with removed air silencer
Ford Racing 9mm wires
MSD Blaster TFI coil
2 chamber Flowmasters and 2.5" flowtubes
Steeda Clutch Cable kit
225/50/16 Nitto NT450 tires (brand new)
2.73 or 3.08 gears (not sure)

him:
94 GT 5.0 5 spd
Dynomax Cat Back
MAC cold air kit
3.73 gears
225/55/16 Dunlop tires

What do you guys think? I kinda think he will take me because of the gears but last time at the track he was having a hell of a time hooking up. This will be my first time ever racing either this friday or next friday.

I think you have a good chance at winning yes he does have gears but the sn95 cars have more weight as well. I think it will come down to who can drive there car better

Hmmm it will be a close one....gears give him an advantage, but your new tires should help considerably. I definitely agree with Explicitone, it will be all up to the driver. Be sure to let us know what happens.

Drive the piss out of your car and he wont have much of a chance. MOST 94-95 5.0's run in the low 15's. You should have an easy mid 14 out of yours.

I think you would win even if you were stock. Your car is way in the hell lighter than his.

you'll smoke him like a cooked sausage.

A good running lx is easily deep in the 14's. You gotta work to get an early sn95 into the 14's.

Your car is 14.6-14.8 second car more than likely.

Borrow some slicks rape him off the line and hope you can hold him off.

I didnt notice he had gears when I first replied.

Good luck,

IMO, it will all depend on your launch. Get a good, hard launch and I think you'll have an excellent chance.

Good luck, and keep us posted.

Default gears

I'm thinking it will be close, but he should have the advantage over you because of the gears. Gears make a huge difference! His car is probably around 300-400lbs. heavier than yours. But that 14.3 pretty much says it all. I say he gets you by a couple of car lengths, depending on how you each hook up. Have fun!

Dang, I'd like to race this guy...
My best time is 14.41 with a 2.07 60'.
That translates to about a 2 car lead at the sixty foot clocks with him chasing me HARD the entire way.

It looks like he's got 1MPH advantage, so..it'd be a really close/GOOD race.

Too bad Carlsbad is so far from Houston..

This sounds like a race I'd like to particpate in.

Now I undestand why {but no agree} with why FUN FORD disqualified the Lincoln Mark VIII from Mod Motor competition....

{LMAO}

"fraidy cats!"

They were SKURRED the the Mark VIII would outshine their mod motor entries, so rather than "making a race out of it"..

They KICKED us out..{totally cracking up}

First a supercharged 00 GT craps his pants out running a lincoln, THEN FUN FORD...craps it's pants when "the Lincolns show up at FFW".

Take care kinds and be safe out there.

Tommy Douglas.
MOD MOTOR OUTLAW...in Grandma's Car.
{LMAO}
